Migrant busses from Texas ramping up as NYC sees largest number yet

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is reportedly sending larger and larger convoys of buses full of illegal aliens to New York City and has no intention of slowing down anytime soon, regardless of how much NYC Mayor Eric Adams complains.

“Five buses rolled up outside the Port Authority terminal in Midtown Manhattan in little more than an hour Wednesday morning, with three arriving around 6:15 a.m. Two more pulled in around 7:30 a.m. Prior to Wednesday, the most buses to arrive in the Big Apple in a single day was three,” according to the New York Post.

The latest caravan reportedly included 237 illegal aliens, including 14 children.

“One of the kids was a skinny, adolescent boy who grinned ear-to-ear as he stepped onto the sidewalk and shook hands with city Assistant Commissioner of Immigrant Affairs Erick Salgado,” the Post reported Wednesday.

“The unidentified boy carried a clear plastic bag of clothing and was wearing brightly colored, leaf-patterned shorts and what appeared to be an American-flag-themed T-shirt.”

The buses were reportedly all from Texas, where Gov. Abbott has been hellbent on giving Democrats a taste of the same medicine that every border state governor has had to contend with ever since President Joe Biden took office in early 2021.

However, most of the illegals have been bused to Washington, D.C., the nation’s capital, not NYC.

“Texas has … bused over 7,000 migrants to our nation’s capital since April and over 900 migrants to New York City since August 5. The busing mission is providing much-needed relief to our overwhelmed border communities,” Abbott’s office announced in a statement last week.

Nevertheless, Abbott has faced the most intense backlash from NYC Mayor Eric Adams, despite Adams presiding over a self-declared “sanctuary city.”

In an op-ed published in the Post on Tuesday, Abbott blasted the mayor over his clear-cut hypocrisy.

“Adams talked the talk about being a sanctuary city — welcoming illegal immigrants into the Big Apple with warm hospitality. Talk is cheap. When pressed into fulfilling such ill-considered policies, he wants to condemn anyone who is pressing him to walk the walk,” Abbott wrote.

“Worst of all is Adams’ hypocrisy. He now complains that he and New York City are overwhelmed by migrants to such an extent that he demands federal help and discourages Texas from sending more buses to his city. Yet he remained silent when President Biden flew migrants into New York, many of whom ended up in New York City.”

He also slammed the mayor for falsely claiming that illegals are both being forced to travel to D.C. and NYC and also being mistreated.

“Since Texas began busing migrants to New York City from our southern border on Aug. 5, the mayor has been on a publicity campaign fueled by outright lies and misinformation intended to distract from his hesitancy to provide the services and support he self-righteously touted on the campaign trail,” Abbott wrote.

“Adams’ fabricated claims about Texas’ treatment of migrants have no basis in reality. To be clear, any migrant who boards a bus from Texas to New York has signed an agreement to be transported to the city. All are provided food and water throughout the journey.”

Adams did not take kindly to the governor’s op-ed.

“Someone get this man a dictionary. ‘Hypocrisy’ is claiming you love America and then decrying the words on the Statue of Liberty. To be clear, @NYCMayor is welcoming asylum seekers with open arms. They deserve more than being used by a governor who only cares about reelection,” his press secretary tweeted Wednesday.

Look:

FYI, not once in Abbott’s op-ed did he mention the Statue of Liberty. Instead, he spoke about the hypocrisy and mindlessness of Democrats who complain about illegals being funneled to their communities but remain silent about President Biden allowing illegals to flood across the southern U.S. border.

“Adams claims that sending migrants on a roughly 30-hour bus trip to New York is inhumane. Where is his self-righteousness when it comes to the fact that Biden’s open-border policies are enticing illegal immigrants to trek — mostly by walking — thousands of miles through treacherous regions in Central America and Mexico, often subjected to rape and torture,” Abbott wrote.

“Many of those migrants are killed or otherwise lose their lives attempting to come here, but that does not trouble Biden enough to meaningfully discourage such illegal immigration. To do so would violate his campaign promise to allow open-border policies if elected.”

It was just a few weeks ago that Mayor Adams whined that the illegals were depleting his community’s resources. Well, now he knows how the leaders of border states and cities feel …
