A literal example of “a day late” bore out in New York City as an illegal alien shelter introduced a new security measure after the latest violent incident.
Friday morning, workers reportedly underwent the process of installing security cameras at the makeshift tent city constructed on Randall’s Island to manage the influx of aliens to the Big Apple. The apparent half-measure came one day after the latest spat of violent crime saw multiple arrests as a stabbing victim was sent to the hospital, according to the New York Post.
“They’re not using metal detectors…If they were, the knives wouldn’t be happening,” a security guard at the facility told the newspaper after a 24-year-old was carted off to Harlem Hospital and listed in stable condition after a brawl had broken out between rival groups.
“Everyone can have a knife, can have something. So it’s not a good environment,” the guard added as the installation of metal detectors remained under consideration. “The security is not good. It’s not safe. If you tell me it’s safe, it’s not. We are trying to do our best, but we are outnumbered.”
A migrant identified by the outlet as Mauricio Pinto expressed, “Everyone has a knife.”
Previously, it had been reported that along with another individual fatally stabbed at the Randall’s Island shelter, aliens weren’t the only ones feeling the brunt of criminality and chaos from those who’d come to the United States illegally as nearby neighborhoods had been impacted with plagues of shoplifting, panhandling, extortion, and violence.

“There are a lot of problems here,” Ecuadorian national Jose Chica, 42, told the Post regarding the “dangerous” shelters. “I don’t mess with anyone. No one.”
In addition to accounts from those living within the shelters, a law enforcement source told the newspaper, “We cannot continue down this road of taking in hundreds and hundreds of people without establishing such security measures. We need to do this for the sake of the staff, migrants and New Yorkers in general.”
“We can’t continue to have thousands of people congregate under such constrained conditions without any metal detectors or cameras. Now we’re dealing with an influx of knives — just wait till they get a hold of guns,” the source further warned.
The latest report indicated that the main suspect in the most recent stabbing remained at large. However, twelve people were handed summonses for disorderly conduct and six others were apprehended Thursday and face charges of criminal weapons possession, attempted assault, and menacing for their alleged actions related to the incident.
Rather than spending the money to heighten security at the shelters as New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) oversaw budget cuts for law enforcement citywide, reactions on social media speculated at cost savings by simply sending the foreign nationals back home until they sought to enter the country via legal avenues.
People that have been welcomed here, housed, fed, schooled and provided medical care for free that carry weapons or commit crimes should be deported immediately, which will cost a lot less than metal detectors

Surely you jest. With all the gun regulations in NY, they can’t possibly get any.

The wave of gun violence will bring shrieks of horror for the democrats and renewed calls for gun control.
