A conference member’s blunt take on Muslims in the United States found House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) zeroing in on the “serious issue” that runs “contrary to the U.S. Constitution.”

Where years of globalist policies intersect with President Donald Trump’s strikes against Iran, concerns have cropped up that the open borders agenda of previous administrations poses a threat of terrorist sleeper cells being activated in the United States. At a broader cultural level, questions about opposition to pluralism found Johnson asserting “Sharia law in America is a serious problem.”
Speaking with the press as the House Republican Conference took part in a three-day event at the Congressional Institute in Doral, Florida, the speaker was asked about a recent social media post made by Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles (R) to which he responded, “There’s a lot of energy in the country and a lot of popular sentiment that the demand to impose Sharia law in America is a serious problem. That’s what animates this.”
“The language that people use, it’s different language than I would use. But I think that that’s a serious issue. Sharia law and the imposition of Sharia law is contrary to the U.S. Constitution,” he added.
Ogles wounded bleeding hearts across the corporate and social media landscapes when he posted, “Muslims don’t belong in American society. Pluralism is a lie.”

In addition to a list rattling off terror attacks committed by Islamists and a chart consisting of “What Islam Offers” — that includes beheadings, honor killings, and rape — Ogles himself responded to backlash by stating, “My comments wouldn’t even be a news story if I had said this about Christians. Please spare me your moral outrage. Cry harder. Christ is King.”

Sandwiched between weekends where a man killed at least two people at a Texas bar while wearing a “Property of Allah” sweatshirt and two men who are being investigated for terrorism in New York for allegedly attempting to use improvised explosive devices while shouting “Allahu Ackbar,” Ogles introduced a bill to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act titled the “Halt Immigration from Countries with Inadequate Verification Capabilities Act.”
The bill names Iran, Libya, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen as countries with inadequate conditions for proper verification of those wishing to come to the United States. Ogles said, “Mass Islamic immigration, legal or illegal, has transformed America and brought destructive consequences.”
Expanding on the issue of Sharia law, Johnson stated, “When you seek to come to a country and not assimilate, but to impose Sharia law — Sharia law is in conflict with the U.S. Constitution. That is the conflict that people are talking about.”
“It is not about people as Muslims. It’s about those who seek to impose a different belief system that is in direct conflict with the Constitution,” he added. “That’s where I think that comes from.”
A day earlier, before New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) hosted Hamas sympathizer Mahmoud Khalil for Ramadan dinner at Gracie Mansion, Johnson addressed media coverage of the reportedly ISIS-inspired failed terror attack that was attempted outside that same residence two days earlier against those opposed to Islamism’s growing prevalence in the country.
“Once again, the mainstream media got it wrong,” wrote the speaker, sharing a collage of headlines posted by Libs of TikTok. “This attack in New York was radical Islamic terror — and while the threat persists, Democrats still REFUSE to fund the Department of Homeland Security. As they demonstrate over and over: They care more about criminal illegal aliens than the safety of the American people.”

Leading the effort to oppose systems antithetical to the Constitution, Texas Rep. Keith Self (R) provided an update on membership of the Sharia-Free America Caucus that he co-chairs with Texas Rep. Chip Roy (R) on Tuesday.
“Thank you to every member of Congress who has joined the Sharia-Free America Caucus. Our ranks have now reached 47 strong, representing 22 states across the nation,” he wrote, sharing the most recent roster. “Western Civilization is worth defending–and we are committed to that defense.”
