A talking point fallback left one MSNBC political analyst falling flat on her face as she ignored a key detail about vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance’s own family.

Running parallel with leftist attempts to spark enthusiasm over the queen of word salads being named the Democratic Party’s presumptive presidential nominee has been a concerted effort to denigrate the junior senator from Ohio. Tacking on to efforts to treat a past remark about “childless cat ladies” as though it were the new “deplorables,” writer Molly Jong-Fast threw race in the mix despite Vance having three biracial children with his Indian-American wife, Usha.
“And Molly, the stats are there,” said MSNBC’s Jonathan Lemire during a panel discussion on “Morning Joe.” “More and more Americans choosing not to have kids. Which again emphasizes why J.D. Vance’s comments about childless Americans — childless cat ladies — could be so politically damaging.”
“Well, so what’s interesting is this is this natalism that comes from an authoritarian playbook, right?” posited Jong-Fast as she waved her hands about. “That there needs to be more ‘white children,’ right? That’s the idea that there’s, you know, this is about great replacement theory racism, right?”
“This is what this — don’t misunderstand it for him wanting more children,” she went on ascribing intent to Vance’s remarks, “he wants a certain kind of, you know, racist thing.”
“So I would say, yeah, it’s certainly true. And attacking people for not having children is really cruel, right?” Jong-Fast went on to add another layer for the party that has made championing the murder of the unborn a key platform. “Because some people can’t have children, some people, you know, want to have children and, you know, can’t, you know — miss the window. So I do think it’s it’s really just a very terrible way to go after people.”
As was reported, Vance said in a 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson, “We are effectively run in this country, via the Democrats, via our corporate oligarchs, by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made, and so they wanna make the rest of the country miserable, too.”
Sunday, he defended his comment while speaking with Fox News host Trey Gowdy and said, “If you look at the full context of what I said, it’s very clear the Democrats have tried to take this thing out of context and blow it out of proportion, which is what they always do because they don’t have an agenda to run on themselves.”
“So this is not a criticism and was never a criticism of everybody without children,” the father of three expressed. “That is a lie of the left. It is a criticism of the increasingly anti-parents and anti-child attitude of the left.”
The absurdity of Jong-Fast’s claim was roundly mocked on social media, so much so in fact that it appeared she had locked her account and untagged herself from a post from the Republican National Committee that drew attention to racism allegations.
