Hunter Biden got a “sweetheart deal” letting him off the hook for illegal gun possession, drug use, sex trafficking, and foreign bribery schemes, instead being charged over minor tax stuff with CNN going to bat for him, telling everyone that the ruling was just “very, very standard.”

Hunter Biden did plead guilty to three counts. Two charges for failing to file taxes in a timely manner and illegal possession of a firearm.
First up was CNN legal analyst Jennifer Rodgers who poo-pooed criticism from Republicans on Tuesday who called the plea agreement a “sweetheart deal.” Former President Trump had a better name for it, he called it a “traffic ticket.”
“Obviously, you’re already hearing a lot of shouting. Oh, sweetheart deal. Oh, this, oh, that. None of us really knows the details of the possible charges are here and exactly what was agreed to as part of this plea, Jennifer,” CNN anchor John Berman declared doing his best to carry water for the White House.
“But how does one assess whether this is the type of deal that a normal person, not a president’s child would get in this circumstance?” Berman disingenuously asked Rodgers.
CNN’s Evan Perez whines that “Republicans are not going to let this go” as they probe the Biden family for their overseas business dealings.
“This is probably only the beginning for House Republicans who are now going to want to see everything that the Justice Department did.” pic.twitter.com/6nuhqh9VSL— Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) June 20, 2023
And we all know very damn well that if the Trump DoJ cut a deal with a Trump kid that handed him a no-jail, dropped-charges plea for federal tax and gun crimes, neither the media nor Democrats nor CNN Republicans would have trouble finding the corruption.

Then the footwork began as the CNN talking heads all proclaimed there is absolutely nothing to see here.
“So you would look to other similar cases, right? So on the gun form charge. It’s very, very standard for someone in this situation who lies on the form because they’re an addict,” Rodgers asserted while noting that the gun charge will reportedly be dismissed if Hunter Biden meets certain conditions.
John Berman worries that the plea deal might be “a stiff deal for Hunter Biden.”
Elie Honig says the evidence against Hunter will only come out via congressional inquiry. He’s confident that Hunter will not spend time in prison. He falsely claims the gun charge is “obscure.” pic.twitter.com/AtCQAFtSmf— Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) June 20, 2023
Perez explains that the gun charge goes away if Hunter completes a rehab program to the satisfaction of the judge.

“The gun is long gone, apparently only had it for a couple of weeks. It’s very standard in these circumstances for this diversion to occur and to wipe out the charges, assuming he’s successfully completed it,” Rodgers claimed.
According to CNN, in the end, Hunter Biden really did nothing wrong and it was a long time ago, so just drop it already.
“So that’s totally standard. And the tax fraud is similar as well. I mean, he paid those taxes back a long time ago. That’s something that DOJ takes very, very seriously when negotiating these deals. And I’ll also say that Hunter Biden was an addict at the time,” he continued.

Amid the Hunter news Leigh Ann Caldwell tells CNN that Republicans “leave out a lot of facts” when arguing that a two-tier system of justice exists. “And so there was discussion of this back when this investigation got going. When you’re talking about a drug addict, you have to think about whether you can prove the mens rea. If this goes to trial. Is he going to be able to undercut their case about whether he knowingly and willfully didn’t pay his taxes? So given all of that and given similar cases with tax fraud, this is not a sweetheart deal. It’s a deal,” Rodgers said trying to justify the unjustifiable.
“I think it’s a good deal for Hunter Biden in that he will stay out of prison and end up with only two misdemeanors on his record. But it’s certainly not a sweetheart deal out of line with what happens in the rest of the country,” he proclaimed.
Tuesday, NBC News reported that Hunter Biden will almost certainly not serve any jail time on the charges. He will be given probation for the tax violations. In other words, he will face no consequences for his actions.
Twitter was a torrid inferno over the obvious two-tier justice system at play:
Hunter’s guilty plea is the sweetest of sweet deals. He gets no jail time and never admits to anything related to his influence peddling scheme implicating Joe.
Meanwhile, the media gets the excuse it needs to say this matter is closed and old news.

Good to know that if I want to get off the hook for not paying taxes and illegally buying guns and taking money from foreign governments I just need to smoke a bunch of crack

And tomorrow CNN will go on with their DNC talking points that we need to severly punish millionaires who cheat on their taxes and people who illegally possess firearms.

LOL. Just imagine how CNN would have covered this had it been Don Jr.

Remember CNN was going batshit crazy about Trump taking a painting of himself that was painted for charity, stating it was tax fraud.
But money laundering and intentional tax fraud by Biden is “no big deal”.
Rules for thee and not for me
