Movement to install massive American flag over Ground Zero gets billionaire backing

As America approaches the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks, a plan to honor the site has already been funded.

Conservative artist Scott LoBaido pitched a plan to install a massive flag pole and flag over the Lower Manhattan site, which has already received 87,234 verified signatures on Change.org as of this writing, to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum last week. It didn’t take long for billionaire businessman Marcus Lemonis, star of Fox’s “The Fixer,” to pledge to foot the bill for the project.

“This memory should be honored every day, not only on anniversaries, and we should never be ashamed to display our flag proudly,” LoBaido explained.

“This is about more than a flag. It is about ensuring that every American, and every visitor from around the world, is reminded that even in our darkest hour, we stood together. As we approach America’s 250th birthday and the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we owe it to the victims, the families, and our country to create a symbol that reflects our unity, strength and gratitude.”

”I will be happy to pay for the 150-foot flagpole. I need you to tell me when and where, but you can count on it. I will take care of the bill,” Lemonis said.

If there’s anyone who knows a thing or two about installing massive flags, it’s Lemonis.

“Gigantic flagpoles soaring130 feet high are mounted outside 200 of Camping World dealerships, the firm he co-founded.” The New York Post reported. “Some states and localities sued, complaining that flagpoles and flags were too massive. All the flags are still up, he said.”

“I want to make sure putting the flagpole at Ground Zero actually happens,” he stressed.
