MTG, Tucker and Massie say ‘the movement has begun’—is a new party really coming?

Tucker Carlson appears to be serious about his plans for a new political party in the United States.

On Sunday, former GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a photo of her sitting at a table headed by Carlson. Also featured in the picture were her husband, Brian Glenn, former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent, and Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., and their spouses.

“We said no more foreign wars and we meant it and supported Donald Trump because he made that promise. But he’s betrayed us all,” Greene wrote. “Our commitment is America First for all Americans, right, left, and center. The movement has begun.”

This comes after Carlson revealed in an interview that he has a desire to “build” a third party that Americans can choose as they find themselves increasingly disenchanted by Republicans and Democrats.

“I’m going to help build a third party. There should be a good-faith effort to figure out what benefits the country. I mean, if you make sixty thousand dollars a year, you’re degraded. Your life expectancy has gone down, and the promise of your children’s lives is likely gone. No one seems to care. It’s not even a factor. ‘What about Hamas?’ I officially don’t care about Hamas. The US government should have, as its first priority, the welfare of its own people,” he said.

The podcast host made it clear that he has no intentions to run for office as a member of the new party.

“I don’t want to be a candidate. Before I did the Times interview, someone said to me, ‘They’re going to ask you if you’re running for president.’ I was very tempted to say ‘I am running—on the pro-patriarchy ticket.’ Just to make sure I gain no new fans,” he joked.
