Mugshot for Pelosi’s husband is ‘hidden,’ Jesse Watters offers rumors of bribery, ‘more to the story’

Fox News host Jesse Watters mocked the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for his DUI arrest over the weekend, joking about how the encounter with police may have transpired while questioning why his mugshot is not released.

The host of “Jesse Watters Primetime” said he was “not holding out hope” that the speaker and her husband, Paul Pelosi, will ever face real consequences for their actions, after alluding to the couple’s wealth and well-timed stock trades that have raised questions.

“We have already told you the Pelosis are about as corrupt as families can be. And now the long arm of the law has finally come down on them – but not for what you think,” Watters began, explaining how Paul Pelosi “was arrested this weekend after he blew through a stop sign and slammed his Porsche into a Jeep while Nancy was across the country.”

Reports indicated the speaker’s 82-year-old multimillionaire husband was driving home from a dinner party in California when he was involved in the accident. No one was injured but Pelosi was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors in Napa County while his wife was miles away in Rhode Island where she had been delivering the commencement address at Brown University.

“First of all,” Watters wondered, “have you ever been to a dinner party without your significant other? Me neither. I think there’s more to the story.”

He went on to say that Pelosi was returning home to “the Pelosi vineyard, you know – the one valued between 5 and 25 million dollars, where they entertain all their friends and fancy Silicon Valley executives.”

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) released a statement saying Pelosi “was arrested for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage at 11:44 pm.”

“He was subsequently booked into the Napa County Detention Center for a violation of 23152(a) and 23152(b) of the vehicle code. The crash is being investigated by the Napa Area,” the CHP statement added, referring to the two counts on driving under the influence of alcohol.

His bail was set at $5,000 and he was released early Sunday morning.

Watters offered a tongue-in-cheek snapshot of what may have transpired during Pelosi’s arrest.

“He allegedly offered stock tips to the officer and asked, Do you know who I am?’” Watters said with a smile. “But we can’t confirm those rumors – just sounds like something he might do.”

Naturally, those on the left demonstrated their stunning lack of humor when reactions poured in over Watters’ remarks, accusing him of having “claimed – citing no source whatsoever – that Pelosi attempted to bribe the police.”

But the Fox News host pressed on, recounting to viewers the many attempts made to obtain Pelosi’s booking photo.

The sheriff “told us the jail had to release it. And then the jail said the sheriff’s office had to release it and then one of our producers was told the city council had to release it,” Watters said, referring to Pelosi’s mugshot.

“And then we were directed to the county board of supervisors. And then when we called the vice-chair of the board, he said why would we have a mugshot?” Watters continued.

“All I know is someone’s going through a lot of trouble to keep this mugshot hidden,” he said.

“The Pelosis probably have the sheriff and the DA in their pocket out there. So we don’t expect Pauly P. to be treated like your average Joe. Pauly P. has already been involved in insider trading allegedly so there is no doubt he thinks he is above the law. Now his lawyer is blaming the media and their incorrect claims for the incident,” Watters said, likely a reference to pushback on the incident.

“Several news reports about Saturday night’s traffic incident involving Paul Pelosi have included incorrect information,” spokesperson Larry Kamer said in a statement obtained by The Daily Beast.

Pelosi’s lawyer said in a statement that “A prior driving offense erroneously attributed to Mr. Pelosi is untrue and likely refers to an unrelated person with the same name. This error must be corrected.”

“There are also incorrect reports that misstate the timing of events,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi has not commented on the arrest of her husband, with her spokesperson saying, “The speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast.”

“Of course, madam speaker brushed it off saying it was a private family matter. Very private,” Watters said at the conclusion of his remarks on Tuesday.

“But she did speak at Brown University’s graduation on Sunday urging graduates to hold on to your hopes,” he said. “Well, here at ‘Primetime,’ we are not holding out hope that the Pelosis will ever face punishments for their crimes.”
