A familiar pitch from a socialist senator once again found him with his hand out despite his own considerable wealth as he embarked on a tour to “Fight Oligarchy.”
Personal commitment to a cause never appears to be a prerequisite for leftists as “rules for thee” invariably mean “but not for me.” So it was for Vermont’s senior Sen. Bernie Sanders (I) as the summer home-having, mitten-wearing multi-millionaire begged for donations as he set off around the country to complain about President Donald Trump’s efforts to shrink the federal government.
Practically a tagline for the lawmaker, his message has become a meme with Sanders kicking off his video by telling viewers, “I am once again asking for your financial support.”
“I don’t have to tell anybody that we’re living in dangerous, unprecedented times and we are fighting now against the oligarchs, Elon Musk and the others, who are essentially running the government — the richest people in the world,” he lamented after having remained mum about the influences of Alex Soros, Larry Fink and others during the Biden administration.

“We’re taking on Trump’s movement toward authoritarianism: putting more and more power into his own hands; undermining the Congress; challenging the courts; not knowing what the Constitution is about,” contended Sanders as he hit on the fearmonger topics du jour. “We are now engaged in a major struggle to make sure the Congress does not pass legislation which gives massive tax breaks to billionaires and then cuts Medicaid, education, and programs that working families desperately need.”
“I’m gonna be running around this country, along with others, to rally the American people to continue the fight for justice, to stand up to Trump and the authoritarianism that we are seeing. To be successful, we’re gonna need your help. So please, if you could send $27 or anything that you could afford, we’d much appreciate it. Thank you very much,” concluded the senator.
Despite the Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency working to limit the size and scope of the federal government and responsibly use the hard-earned money of the American taxpayers, Sanders claimed when launching his tour, “In my opinion, what Musk and those around him are aggressively striving for is not novel. It is not complicated, and it is not new.”
“It is what ruling classes throughout history have always wanted and have always believed is theirs by right: more power, more control, and more wealth,” he argued halfway through his fifth decade in elected office. “They don’t want ordinary people–that’s you–and democracy getting in their way.”
Whether on his own TikTok account garnering over a million views, or on X where the video went viral, reactions to Sanders’ latest petition for the proletariat to support his bourgeoisie lifestyle were less than supportive with reminders about four years of hardship under now-former President Joe Biden that has done little to impact his ability to own multiple homes and pad his portfolio.
Socialists never spend their own money, they spend everyone else’s.

This infuriates me…He is a multimillionaire.. Why doesn’t he donate his own money? He has more than enough to last him a few lifetimes.. such a hypocrite

Vermont had big sections wiped out by flooding last year. Even though we have socialist and communist I dont remember him raising any money for them.
