Musk, Trump consider sending check to Americans with found money. How much could ‘DOGE dividend’ be?

The newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has already saved taxpayers $55 billion in its first month and some of the money could be finding its way back into the pockets of Americans.

DOGE boss Elon Musk said that he would check with President Donald J. Trump on the idea of a “DOGE Dividend” payment after it was suggested by investor and entrepreneur James Fishback in a Tuesday post to X.

“President Trump and @ElonMusk should announce a ‘DOGE Dividend’—a tax refund check sent to every taxpayer, funded exclusively with a portion of the total savings delivered by DOGE,” wrote the Azoria CEO and co-founder, to which the billionaire Tesla/SpaceX CEO replied, “Will check with the President.”

“It was their money in the first place! At $2 trillion in DOGE savings and 78 million tax-paying households, this is a $5,000 refund per household, with the remaining used to pay down the national debt. Elon Musk, let’s do this! This is how we rebuild trust in our government,” Fishback said in a previous post.

Musk and his team of tech whiz kids have sent shockwaves through Washington as they have made the rounds of agencies seeking out waste to cut from the bloated federal government, turning up fraud and corruption as well.

Democrats are in a hysterical meltdown as they whip up their base to oppose DOGE and their allies are flooding the courts with frivolous lawsuits that have allowed activist judges to impose national restraining orders in a furious all-hands-on-deck effort to save their money laundering rackets.

The idea of a “DOGE dividend” drew a mixed reaction from X users with some praising such a rebate while others opposed giving the American people their money back by insisting that the savings should be applied to the national debt.

A “DOGE dividend” payment would not only bolster public support for the agency but would likely be a big winner politically for Trump whose name was on the COVID-era economic relief checks that were sent to Americans, something that former President Joe Biden lamented as “stupid” for not thinking of doing himself.

“I signed the American Rescue Plan, the most significant economic recovery package in our history, and also learned something from Donald Trump,” the disgraced Democrat said during a speech at the Brookings Institution in December. “He signed checks for people for 7,400 bucks … and I didn’t. Stupid.”
