New poll shows how ‘radically out of touch’ liberal corporate media is with average Americans

A new Harris-Harvard poll has been released, and, after surveying 2,004 registered voters, it clearly revealed one thing: The “liberal corporate media” is “radically out of touch” with Americans.

“A newly released Harris-Harvard poll conclusively demonstrates how radically out of touch is liberal corporate media with the views of Americans,” tweeted journalist Glenn Greenwald, who broke the poll down in a lengthy Sunday Twitter thread.

“It’s not just that corporate media rejects Americans’ views,” Greenwald said. “They don’t permit those views to be heard.”

It turns out that most voters (56%) say Trump’s collusion with Russia and the Steele Dossier accusations are false stories.

When asked about the “Russia collusion” narrative, the poll found that 30% of Democrats and 59% of Independents agreed with the 81% of Republicans who say both stories were fake news.

The numbers were nearly identical when asked if “the Steele dossier that included salacious accusations against Trump” was a true or false story.

“In other words, they view the story the US media aggressively centered for 3 years as a hoax and a fraud, yet NBC and CNN won’t even air this view,” Greenwald said.

When asked whether they believed the information found on Hunter Biden’s laptop from hell is real, 59% of respondents — 79% of Republicans,  41% of Democrats, and 58% of Independents — rejected the notion that it was “Russian disinformation” and said they believed the damning trove of info on the forgotten computer was real.

“So again,” Greenwald noted, “Americans view the claim that the US corporate media and CIA spread for weeks before the 2020 election – to help Biden win – as a fraud.”

A lack of faith in the FBI is shared by the majority (55%) of Americans who say they don’t think the FBI and DOJ are “fully investigating” the laptop and Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings, and a whopping 63% of Americans — 83% of Republicans, 65% of Independents, and 43% of Democrats — believe the First Son “was involved in illegal influence peddling and tax evasion.”

What’s more, 53% of Americans believe President Joe Biden “was involved with his son in illegal influence peddling.”

That majority includes one-in-four Democrats (25%), 79% of Republicans, and 58% of Independents.

And, as we head toward the 2024 race for the White House, a staggering 70% of Americans are either “very concerned” or “somewhat concerned” about “future interference by the FBI and intelligence agencies in elections.”

“Wide-ranging reform to prevent interference in elections by law enforcement and the intelligence community” is supported by 71% of Americans, including by 76% of Republican voters, 65% of Democrats, and 72% of Independents.

An overwhelming 69% of Americans aren’t even surprised by the findings in the Durham report, which “concluded that the FBI violated its own standards in starting the Trump-Russia probe and became a funnel for disinformation from the Hillary Clinton Campaign.”

When asked if Biden was “mentally fit to serve as President of the United States,” 57% of Americans said they “have doubts” — up from 44% in April — and 65% believe Biden “is showing he is too old” for the job.

If the election were held today between Biden and Trump, the MAGA king would win by 7 points. If Trump were to face off with Vice President Kamala Harris, he’d beat her by 11 points.

“Can the media be more out-of-touch?” Greenwald asked.

The poll also asked respondents which political figures they liked most.

Elon Musk won that “by far,” with Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis rounding out the top three.

Even Bernie Sanders beat Joe Biden.

If the Democratic presidential primary were held today, Biden would receive 41% of the votes, with Harris taking 12% of the votes in second place.

But, as Greenwald points out, “For whatever reason, the poll excluded the challenger near 20%: RFK, Jr.”

“What’s so striking here isn’t that the corporate media relentlessly advocates views and ideologies that majorities of Americans – often large majorities – reject,” Greenwald stated. “It’s that the views held by majorities are all but banned on NBC, CNN, NYT and WPost.”

Elon Musk weighed in on Greenwald’s analysis with a characteristically short-but-effective tweet: “!!”
