New word alert! ‘Kyriarchy’ awareness coming to an elementary school near you

An Arizona school was put on notice after materials with a “new word” featured the vilification of “whiteness.”

Higher education’s ongoing descent into “wokeism” dredged up another term from the bowels of Marxism complete with all the trappings of pseudoscience. Previewing an upcoming report from The College Fix’s Logan Dubil, Libs of TikTok featured materials said to be in use at the University of Arizona about a “giant societal power system” dubbed the “kyriarchy.”

“SCOOP: @uarizona teaches white students that they’re violent oppressors because of their skin color. If you’re white, straight, or male, you’re a privileged oppressor,” captioned the account over two images taken from the lessons. “They teach that whiteness makes you violent, and there is a giant societal power system called the ‘kyriarchy’ which includes white privilege and cis privilege.”

A portion of the text warning about kyriarchy stated, “Society is affected by a number of different power systems: patriarchy, white supremacy, heterosexism, cissexism, and classism — to name a few. These systems interact together in one giant system called the kyriarchy.”

Accredited to Elizabeth Schüssler Fiorenza’s 1992 book “But She Said: Feminist Practices of Biblical Interpretation,” the materials on kyriarchy peddled that “whiteness makes you violent” and maintained that privilege couldn’t be considered on an individual basis, but only at the systemic level.

“We’re looking at the rule, not the exception to the rule.”

Emphasizing patriarchal and white supremacist societies, the materials also asserted that “institutional power” was a one-way street. “It’s important to bear this in mind because privilege doesn’t go both ways. Female privilege does not exist because women don’t have institutional power. Similarly, black privilege, trans privilege, and poor privilege don’t exist because those groups do not have institutional power.”

Readily recalled as critical race theory entered the lexicon and was readily exposed in K-12 lessons as well as in college curriculum throughout the country, was how it was dismissed as little more than academic theory that wasn’t permeating all levels of public education.

The content presented by Libs of TikTok remained a tease to a bigger story as Dubil went on to post, “[University of Arizona] is doing MORE than just teaching white students that they’re violent oppressors…Stay tuned to learn more about what’s going on at this university.”

It even garnered the attention of billionaire Elon Musk who replied to LoTT with a “!” prompting her to make light of the radical instruction, “Don’t worry Elon, you’re safe from being labeled a white violent man because you’re an African American.”

Still others shared and replied to the exposed materials both shaming the university and urging parents to pay attention to what their children are being taught to attempt to curb the spread of the leftist ideology.
