The decision by New York magazine to put out a cover featuring doctored images of President Joe Biden and former President Donald J. Trump stripped down to their boxer shorts was slammed by critics.
In its latest edition, the left-leaning publication portrayed both men in an indecent and “wildly disrespectful” manner for the cover of its “Health Issue” showing the two standing on scales with Trump’s image being particularly unflattering due to an embellished stomach.
“And now, Joe Biden has Covid,” the magazine wrote in a post to X featuring the offensive cover. Biden was yanked off the campaign trail on Wednesday after testing positive for the virus and is hunkered down at his home in Delaware.

“We had already been thinking about how to address the fact that this health issue would drop in the middle of the presidential campaign when the presidential debate put the health and age of the candidates in the center of the national conversation,” explained the magazine’s Executive Editor Genevieve Smith.
The cover drew a strong response from X users who were appalled by the magazine’s tasteless decision-making to feature the two elderly men nearly butt-naked.
This is inappropriate and trashy.

Now why would you make this cover? Who asked for this?

You should all be sent to Gitmo for this cover.

What happened to promoting body positivity?

This is such a wildly inappropriate cover. Would you do the same if two women were running against each other? Completely tasteless, sinking to the basest levels here.

Wow..NYMag. That’s low. Yes, we are concerned about health but to post these men in thier underwear when you are a big corporate media company…very poor taste and move regardless what side people fall on.

Trump has lost weight. You’re in the news business and you don’t know that?

Guys keep your sexual fantasies off the cover please. Humiliating for you

Sad day when a magazine has to stoop this low to try and boost their circulation and recognition. This will backfire as their liberal readers have no sense of humor or tolerance. The outrage is going to be amusing to watch.

“Was no one else in the room when this got approved or is everyone there on bath salts?” Asked one Instagram user.
“Why was this the approved cover? How bad were the other options?” another user wondered.
Despite the image’s insinuation that the 78-year-old Trump is unhealthily overweight, it is the 81-year-old Biden who has been plagued by health problems, most visibly his now obvious senility, a “cold” during the CNN debate debacle and now COVID which laid him low while Trump delivered an epic 90-minute speech at the RNC convention on Thursday, less than a week after being wounded during a failed assassination attempt.
