Nikki Haley receives raucous applause when she drops major election tease: ‘Sometimes it takes a woman’

The midterm elections may still be more than 100 days out but many Americans can’t wait for the end of President Joe Biden’s administration and, while no candidacies have been officially announced from the leading political parties, one notable former government official dropped a major hint Monday when she declared, “sometimes it takes a woman.”

Christians United for Israel, the United States’ largest pro-Israel organization, held the second night of their annual summit outside Washington, D.C. Monday, and to close out the evening, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley was invited to speak. With her main focus centered around America’s relationship with Israel and Biden’s failures on foreign policy, the former governor of South Carolina slammed the current administration for pushing a return to the disastrous Iran nuclear deal.

“Iran has already made it clear it has no intention of changing course. It kicked out inspectors and ramped up enrichment. Those aren’t the moves of a country that’s willing to abandon its nuclear dreams,” she contended. “Even if it signs the deal, mark my words, Iran will keep cheating until it gets what it wants. Anything Joe Biden signs will all but guarantee that Iran gets the bomb.”

“No deal is better than a bad deal,” Haley emphatically declared before teasing her future intentions. “And if this president signs any sort of deal, I’ll make you a promise: the next president will shred it on her first day in office.”

After nearly a minute of raucous applause and a standing ovation, the former ambassador added, “Just saying, sometimes it takes a woman.”

The calculated turn of phrase was clearly not a passing musing to excite the audience as Haley made sure to share the statement with other excerpts from her speech on Twitter.

During her address, she criticized the current administration for allowing Russia to have a seat at the negotiating table while they continue their invasion of Ukraine which has further enflamed the supply chain crisis and weakened the American economy.

“We’re letting one enemy negotiate with a second enemy behind closed doors. And we’re supposed to believe that whatever they agree on will be good for us or Israel? How naïve do you have to be? America is smarter than this,” she said.

“Sadly, America is unwittingly helping Iran achieve its evil vision,” Haley argued. “The president is desperate to get back into the Iran nuclear deal. He’s made that clear, and he’s said he’ll do almost anything to get the ayatollahs to sign on the dotted line.”

“Iran’s leaders now think they can get away with attacking Israel, and the leader of the free world isn’t doing anything to change their mind,” she added.

However, around the same time that Haley was on stage taking shots at Biden and hyping up the audience with her suggestions of future plans, Fox News host Tucker Carlson was sharing a snippet of a speech he gave in Iowa Friday at the FAMiLY Leadership Summit where he happened to bring the former ambassador up by name.

“You’re trying to please the people whose opinions you actually care about at The New York Times,” Carlson slammed Haley as he ripped into remarks she made following the 2020 riots in the wake of George Floyd’s death. “That’s just true.”

“Doesn’t mean she’s a bad person. I don’t think she is a bad person,” he went on. “I like her. I’ve always liked Nikki Haley. If she was right here I’d tell her to her face, ‘I like you. Don’t want you in charge of anything,'” he added to laughter, “because the second things get intense, the second the other side really unleashes and starts yelling so loudly that you can’t think clearly, I want a leader who can still think clearly.”

The Fox News host wasn’t alone in not wanting to see Haley follow through with her plans for a future political campaign.
