Nikki Haley revs up bus for ‘Beast of the Southeast’ barnstorming tour in SC

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is revving up her engines for what she has tabbed the “Beast of the Southeast” for a barnstorming tour as she mounts a donor-fueled push for second place in the Republican primaries.

Flush with funds from anti-Trump interests, the media darling unveiled the sleek tour bus she will use to crisscross the state that she once governed in the hopes of a semi-respectable showing against the GOP frontrunner when voters go to the polls for the Republican primary in two weeks, a critical contest to maintain the narrative that she is a viable candidate.

Haley’s expected second-place showing in the Palmetto State will be a morale boost for her cheerleaders who had to swallow a humiliation in the Nevada primary last week where the candidate was soundly thumped to the tune of nearly 30 points by “None of These Candidates,” a result that she spun as being “rigged” in a foray into what would be called election denialism if Trump had said it.

“The one thing that I’ve noticed about her is that the more people that she’s in front of, when they see her, touch her and hear her, the more sold they are,” said Gresham Barrett, a former GOP congressman who lost to Haley in the 2010 governor’s race.

“It’s hard to break through that ceiling, but brother, she is doing it every day,” he added, according to Greenville, SC outlet WYFF. “She’s working her keister off, not only here in South Carolina, but in the Super Tuesday states. She was just out in California.”

Since Haley announced the “Beast of the Southeast” tour, it’s drawn far more ridicule than it has positive buzz from X users.

While the “Beast of the Southeast” may be cringeworthy, nothing could top Haley’s surprise appearance on “Saturday Night Live” last week where she staked her claim as the queen of cringe.

Both candidates made appearances in South Carolina on Saturday with Haley tooling around in her new bus and Trump speaking before a huge crowd at a rally in Conway, a city near Myrtle Beach.

The rubber should really hit the road with the South Carolina primary followed by Super Tuesday and with Trump holding big leads in every state, Haley could be roadkill by mid-March.
