NY Times confirms IRS whistleblower claim about Hunter Biden. Guess how far down it gets buried.

The New York Times appears to once again be running cover for Hunter Biden, deeply burying the confirmation of an explosive whistleblower claim against the Department of Justice’s mishandling of its investigation into his corrupt activities in the 21st paragraph of a report.

The report by the media outlet came out on Tuesday. The whistleblower is IRS Criminal Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley Jr. who testified that US Attorney David Weiss told multiple witnesses that he was advised by the DOJ that he could not bring charges against Hunter Biden in California.

The confirmation of Weiss’ claims that was buried in the New York Times report titled, “Competing Accounts of Justice Dept.’s Handling of Hunter Biden Case,” was illuminating, to say the least.

“It is not clear if Mr. Weiss was convinced those strands of the investigation should be prosecuted or was simply making sure all potential charges were pursued thoroughly. But in mid-2022, Mr. Weiss reached out to the top federal prosecutor in Washington, Matthew Graves, to ask his office to pursue charges and was rebuffed, according to Mr. Shapley’s testimony,” the New York Times reported.

“A similar request to prosecutors in the Central District of California, which includes Los Angeles, was also rejected, Mr. Shapley testified. A second former I.R.S. official, who has not been identified, told House Republicans the same story. That episode was confirmed independently to The New York Times by a person with knowledge of the situation,” the media outlet added.

The report follows the House Ways and Means Committee releasing testimony from two IRS whistleblowers who alleged that President Biden’s son received preferential treatment from the Justice Department. That came after Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor tax violations and entered a pretrial diversion agreement regarding a felony gun registration charge. He will serve no time in prison and will receive probation despite massive amounts of evidence of illegal drug use, lying on a gun form, illicit sexual encounters, and possible corruption and influence peddling via foreign business dealings.

Shapley also implicated Attorney General Merrick Garland, intimating that he lied about interfering in the probe.

“As I said at the outset, Mr. Weiss, who was appointed by President Trump as the U.S. attorney in Delaware and assigned this matter during the previous administration, would be permitted to continue his investigation and to make a decision to prosecute any way in which he wanted to and in any district in which he wanted to. Mr. Weiss has since sent a letter to the House Judiciary Committee confirming that he had that authority,” Garland misleadingly told reporters at the time. “He was given complete authority to make all decisions on his own behalf.”

The whistleblowers made serious and damning accusations against the Department of Justice but the really explosive claim implicates President Biden.

That claim involves a WhatsApp text message from Hunter Biden that was reportedly sent to a communist Chinese party official and business associate where he threatened him and invoked his father’s name in what Republicans assert was an illicit extortion scheme.

I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight,” Hunter Biden allegedly wrote.

“And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction,” the message continued. “I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”

There were other damning messages as well.

According to Fox News Digital, Hunter Biden’s attorney did not deny the message’s authenticity, but blamed it on his client’s addictions, “Any verifiable words or actions of my client in the midst of a horrible addiction are solely his own and have no connection to anyone in his family.”

The White House Counsel’s Office repeated its claim that President Biden “was not in business with his son.”
