NY Times hammered over trans Father’s Day feature

Father’s Day found the Gray Lady deferring to “left-wing gender goblins” and earning every bit of blowback for promoting a “trans dad” who works in kids television.

It may be true that the annual celebration of dads is often the butt of jokes, reduced to a tradition of giving ties, grilling or some ostensibly male activity. That said, The New York Times decided to make itself the joke his third Sunday of June when it published a woman’s op-ed reflecting on her own experiences with fatherhood.

Titled, “To My Daughter, My Gender Was Never Complicated,” motion designer Zach Ellams’ op-ed featured illustrations of a stubble-faced character interacting with what appeared to be a young girl going by the name Elliot in numerous settings with the child asking questions like, “How long did you have breasts for, Dad?” and “How did you grow a mustache if you were a lady?”

Another interaction showed the girl with peers being told she can’t grow a beard like she wants to because she’s a girl, only for her to assert, “My dad did, and he was a girl.”

Summing up the move from the newspaper while including a screenshot of one of the drawings depicting a pool scene that read, “I’ve been living as a trans man since I was 18 years old,” The Federalist co-founder Sean Davis captioned, “The New York Times celebrated Father’s Day by saluting the real heroes: left-wing gender goblins who think mentally ill women mutilating themselves, mainlining hormone injections, and playing daddy dress-up are the true embodiment of fatherhood.”

He was hardly alone in ripping into the outlet over its decision to highlight gender ideology by platforming the artist whose LinkedIn list of recent clients includes Amazon and Entertainment One, previously owned by Hasbro before its sale to Lionsgate.

Others saw the op-ed as a reminder the the public does “not hate the media enough.”

Gender ideology wasn’t all the Times took heat for Sunday as President Donald Trump reacted to a headline regarding Iran that read, “What Changed After Almost 4 Months of War? Analysts Say Not Much.”

“REALLY?” began the commander-in-chief. “Their Military is DONE, their Navy is GONE, their Air Force is GONE, their Launching Pads, Missiles, Drones and Manufacturing of same, is almost GONE, their top two sets of Leaders are GONE, their Inflation is at 250%, their Economy is BROKEN, their Soldiers aren’t being paid, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN, THE OIL IS GUSHING, and the U.S. Stock Market and Jobs are at record HIGHS. That’s what’s CHANGED, you corrupt and unethical cowards, and MORE!!!”

Of course, the digital age brings with it convenient tools for turning propaganda back on itself as social media users opted to use the comic panels as templates to introduce their own text while some chose to tack a new headline on the op-ed.
