Real estate developers in New York City weighed in on the legal lynching of former President Donald J. Trump by an “eccentric” far-left judge in the civil fraud lawsuit brought by state Attorney General Letitia James with some predicting that he will win on appeal.
The billionaire real estate mogul could be stripped of his New York business licenses by Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron in a highly publicized show trial that has become a legal circus, one that Trump contends has been rigged against him by a judge whom he described as a “highly political and fully biased Trump Hater.”
“I don’t think Trump will lose his properties or his business licenses because of one eccentric judge making a decision on his own. I think [the decision] will be reversed on appeal, but I could be wrong,” one developer told the New York Post which interviewed some other big players to get their take on the GOP frontrunner’s trial, with both those who “love Trump and those who loathe him” offering their input.
“Canceling business certificates is carte blanche to go after anyone for anything,” another developer told the outlet. “I’m not defending Trump. But now they have another tool in their toolbox. Where does it end? It’s a little scary,” noting the dangerous precedent that could be set by Engoron.
The trial’s star witness, disgraced former Trump attorney and convicted felon Michael Cohen, testified this week that he “reverse engineered” the values of Trump’s properties which James contends were overinflated to receive favorable loans and insurance deals.
“The Real Estate Board of New York’s annual party — the equivalent of Vanity Fair’s Oscar party — is even dubbed ‘The Liar’s Ball,’” another developer said.
“No one lost money. No one got hurt. Everyone got paid in full — even overpaid since the assets were inflated,” one expert real estate lawyer told the outlet, noting that it was the responsibility of banks to do their due diligence before approving loans.
“So Trump is a fraud. We all know it. He always has been. He’s the world’s best con man. The question is, if everybody knows you are a fraud, who are you defrauding?” said another developer whom the outlet noted has “clashed with Trump in the past.”
The most persecuted man in America continued his strong criticism of Judge Engoron despite the fines and gag orders.
“The Radical Left Judge who should not be handling the FAKE & FULLY DISCREDITED CASE brought against me by the New York State A.G. (It should be handled by the Commercial Division, but should never have been brought!), fined me $10,000 yesterday under his so-called gag order. He is a judge that found me GUILTY before the trial even started, and long before he had the real facts, like Michael Cohen collapsing and choking yesterday under cross examination, and completely admitting that I did nothing wrong,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday.

“He committed MASSIVE PERJURY, at a level seldom seen on the stand before. It was like watching the end of the best Petty Mason episode, where the defendant breaks down and cries, ‘Yes, I did it, I did it, I did it.’ This case should be ended, NOW, but this Judge and his “boss,” Letitia Peekaboo James, will never let that happen. He even refuses to accept our big win in the Appeals Court. It is a disgrace to the legal system in the State of New York. This is a RIGGED CASE!” Trump added.
