Obama, Bill Clinton to hold ‘first-of-its-kind’ fundraiser for Joe Biden

The assembling of former and current Democrat presidents is reportedly set to occur in a “first-of-its-kind” fundraiser for President Joe Biden.

Democrats are evidently rolling out the big guns to save the flailing incumbent who is bleeding support and enthusiasm as the 2024 presidential race looms.

“The idea is for three Democratic presidents — Biden, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama — to appear together at a fundraiser this spring, the four people familiar with the discussions said,” NBC News reported Sunday.

“Discussions are underway to coordinate the presidents’ schedules, these people said, though no date has been set. The fundraiser would likely take place in March or April, two of the sources familiar with the discussions said,” the outlet noted.

The report continued to say that there is an effort to roll out an “all-hands-on-deck approach” to getting BIden re-elected.

NBC News further noted that neither the Biden campaign nor spokespeople for Clinton and Obama commented when asked about the news.

Former President Donald Trump’s victory in the Republican primary in New Hampshire seemed to propel the Biden campaign to the next level in the race to keep the 81-year-old in office.

“As a result, the campaign is increasing the pace of its hiring, particularly in battleground states, and ramping up its focus on voters whose support it believes will decide the November election, officials said,” according to NBC News. “Biden, for instance, has tailored recent events to Black voters, including on Saturday in South Carolina. Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday in Nevada kicked off a series of small events with Latino voters.”

Biden officials said the president’s travel schedule will also see a shift as he is expected to be “out in the country” at least two days a week.

“It’s going to be very aggressive,” a White House official told the outlet.

“There is real focus and urgency around making sure we beat Trump,” one Biden adviser said. “Everyone is all in. And this kind of event early on is just the latest demonstration of that.”

“What Democrats see as a party show of force, however, could be viewed differently by some voters who helped Biden win in 2020, such as moderate Republicans,” NBC News noted, adding that Clinton and Obama “have been lightning rods for the GOP.”
