Obama’s ‘wingman’ gives his take on whether Biden should pardon Trump

Former Attorney General Eric Holder gave his biased opinion on whether former President Trump should be pardoned if President Biden is reelected, hypocritically asserting that pardons should be for those who show remorse.

Making it extremely evident that Holder believes that Trump should be in jail, he called for the so-called system to do its work on “Face the Nation” Sunday, deferring to a biased court system that seems intent on putting the former president behind bars.

“I think I’d tell the president, the next attorney general, to let the system do its work. Try the cases, see what the results are. And then treat that convicted president, or anybody else who was convicted, as any other person,” the former Obama wingman stated.

Trump was indicted in June on 37 federal charges that allege willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and false statements. He pleaded not guilty and branded the charges as a “witch hunt” in the Left’s ongoing effort to take him down. From the beginning, Trump has denied being guilty and has railed against political persecution by the Democrats to keep him from running for the presidency in 2024.

“Pardons generally are for people who express remorse and then who have done things that show that they have turned their lives around,” Holder speciously contended, referring to Trump and intimating that since he won’t confess to things he hasn’t done he should get the book thrown at him.

If those kinds of determinations can be made with regard to the former president, or anybody else who was convicted, yeah, I would support that. In the absence of something like that, I don’t think that would be a wise thing to do,” he commented, referring to Biden potentially pardoning Trump.

Republicans have fiercely decried the attempt to silence Trump and imprison him by Democrats. The former president is aggressively fighting back.

“The ridiculous and baseless indictment of me by the Biden administration’s weaponized ‘Department of Injustice’ will go down as among the most horrific abuses of power in the history of our country,” the former president declared in June at the Georgia Republican Convention. “This vicious persecution is a travesty of justice.”

“They’ve launched one witch hunt after another to try and stop our movement,” he railed. “They’re not coming after me, they’re coming after you.”

A number of Republican candidates running against Trump have indicated that they would pardon the former president if he is convicted should they be elected. Those include Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Larry Elder according to Fox News. Ramaswamy has been very vocal in calling for all candidates to vow to pardon Trump should they get the nomination.

Other GOP candidates have said they are not likely to pardon Trump if they are elected, including Chris Christie, Will Hurd, and Asa Hutchinson who have almost zero chance of winning the nomination.

Biden laughed in May when asked by Fox News reporter Peter Doocy if he would consider pardoning Trump, indicating that it is extremely unlikely that he would do so.
