Veteran Democrat strategist James Carville admitted that his years-long obsession with President Donald J. Trump has left him wracked with insomnia.
He just can’t get Trump out of his head, to the point where his late-stage Trump Derangement Syndrome is keeping him up at night. This is understandable considering how much of his waking hours the “Ragin’ Cajun” spends dispensing conspiracy theories and spewing profane invective about the president.
The 81-year-old mastermind of former President Bill Clinton’s stunning 1992 White House victory fessed up about his inability to snooze, but even if he’s unrested and bleary-eyed, he isn’t about to dial down his hatred of Trump, which burns hotter than the fire of a thousand suns.
“I got it, and I want it, and I want it to get worse,” Carville said of his TDS. “If I could take a pill that would help me hate that motherf**ker more and obsess on him more, I would take that pill.”

The dyspeptic Democrat talked about his case of the “horrific consuming disease” during the latest edition of his Politicon podcast that was posted to YouTube on Tuesday.
The salty-tongued octogenarian described his TDS as a “horrific consuming disease,” albeit one that has also infected “millions” who share his misery about the POTUS, whom he slammed as a “criminal of the first order.”
“We can’t think of anything else, you understand that?” Carville asked. “If you were in the middle of World War II or the Civil War or the bubonic plague, what the f**k else you gonna think about? Nothin’.
“I hate the son of a b*tch, I hate what he’s doing to this country, I’m obsessed with it. I can’t sleep at night,” he added of his TDS-induced insomnia.
Just call it sleepless in Louisiana.
Carville’s latest rabid rant comes a day after he advised women working in the Trump administration to GTFO as soon as possible because the president will toss them away like a “used condom,” referring to former Trump spox Katie Zacharia’s disastrous five-day tenure as White House press secretary.
The spittle-spewing senior citizen was among Democrats who leapt at the chance to reboot the Russiagate scam after Trump made a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin to supply diesel fuel to help mitigate the skyrocketing prices at the pump that have become a major issue with voters weeks before the midterms.
Carville accused Trump of “siding” with Putin.
“There is some kind of problem with Trump’s loyalty to the United States, flat out,” he raved. “He does not like this country, he doesn’t like our laws, he doesn’t like our Constitution, he doesn’t like the people who live in this country, he thinks we’re all dirty and sloppy.”
The crusty old Democrat capped off his diatribe by expressing hope that a midterm rout of the GOP will provide TDS relief.
“I got a disease, I like the disease, and I’m gonna keep it, and I hope I get rid of it sometime around, oh, I don’t know, 22:00 hours, 3 November, 2026,” Carville said, referring to election night two weeks from now.
