Ohio cop shoots fleeing woman through windshield after she plows into him

A Columbus, Ohio, police sergeant was forced to shoot a woman through the windshield of a reported stolen car when she struck him with the vehicle.

Holly Graham, 32, was transported to a local hospital in serious condition after striking the officer, who fired his weapon as she attempted to drive away with him on the hood of the car. Graham was charged with felonious assault for causing serious physical harm to a peace officer.

The dramatic incident that took place last week was captured on officers’ body-cameras and can be seen here:

The sergeant fell off the car as Graham managed to continue fleeing despite being shot. She would strike two other vehicles head-on in the area of Interstate 71, according to WBNS 10.

Graham had been spotted earlier in the vehicle that had been reported stolen and police decided to disengage pursuit. She was located later at a gas station, and as other officers placed stop-sticks at the exits, the sergeant approached the vehicle with his gun drawn.

As he ordered Graham to stop the car, she accelerated and hit the 10-year veteran officer who ended up on the hood of the moving vehicle.

The sergeant was transported to the hospital after the shooting and was reportedly in stable condition. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident.
