With Nancy Pelosi deciding to recede into the background after the GOP won back control of the House of Representatives in the midterm elections, the party chose to double down on its far-left radicalism by elevating one of its most extreme members as its new leader.
This week, House Democrats elected Rep. Hakeem Jeffries to be House Minority Leader, elevating another New York City lawmaker whose ideology aligns closely with that of socialist firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her “Squad” in a statement that the party has left moderates in the rearview mirror as it continues to pursue its transformational agenda.
The selection of Jeffries came as no surprise to many, including Newsmax TV host Rob Schmitt who discussed the changing of the guard with Republican strategist Erin Perrine on Wednesday’s edition of “Rob Schmitt Tonight” on the conservative network.
“Democrats’ pick to replace Nancy Pelosi indicates that their party has no intention of veering away from the Squad’s favorite brand of politics,” he began.

“Hakeem Jeffries is an anti-U.S. oil, rabid defender of the pro-abortion death cult. He’s an election denier. He’s a pretty radical New York congressman. He tweeted numerous times following the 2016 election, at one point writing, ‘The more we learn about the 2016 election, the more illegitimate it becomes,’” he added, as visual evidence of Jeffries’ election denialism was displayed for viewers.
“And now this man leads the House Democrats. So you see the road that that party is going down?” Schmitt asked.
After welcoming his guest, he added, “I’m not surprised because you knew it wasn’t gonna be a white guy. I think we all knew that, but it’s a very extreme choice,” a remark that drew the inevitable cries of ‘racism’ despite Democrats’ recent history of immediately eliminating certain demographics from consideration for positions with Vice President Kamala Harris as a prime example.
“It is an extreme choice, and Democrats like to use this adage, right, show me your budget and I’ll show you your values.” Perrine said. “Well, show me your leader and I’ll show you your party. They have picked an election denier. You know, the Green New Deal-loving champion-of-Russian-disinformation, Hakeem Jeffries to lead the Democrats going into this Republican-led Congress.”
“So what are they saying? We’re not gonna come to the middle. We’re not gonna put the American people first, we’re going to continue to put our Democrat friends and lobbyists and green energy folks first because those are the people that pad their pockets most for the campaign,” she added. “It’s a really sad choice for Democrats, I think they could have done much better..,” she added, noting that lawmakers from non-coastal states have been shut out of leadership.
“Democrats are doubling down on a far radical left ideology,” she said.
“It’s also interesting that now you’ve got on the Democrat side, the House and the Senate are both now run by two guys from this dumpster fire of a city New York,” Schmitt pointed out, referring to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. “I mean talk about out of touch with the mainstream. You’ve got two guys from New York City running both the House and the Senate for Democrats.
Throw in AOC as the party’s ideological thought leader and it’s clear that the Democratic Party is in a New York state of mind.
