Oscar nomination snub of ‘Barbie’ star Margot Robbie has left crying sexism: ‘Power of patriarchy’

“Barbie” actress Margot Robbie got the cold shoulder at the Oscar nominations on Tuesday causing screams of sexism and patriarchy to immediately ensue, lighting up social media with faux outrage.

“Ryan Gosling was nominated for Best Supporting Actor and America Ferrera was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, but both released statements expressing disappointment that neither Robbie nor Greta Herwig, the director, were nominated,” The Blaze reported.

“Against all odds with nothing but a couple of soulless, scantily clad, and thankfully crotchless dolls, they made us laugh, they broke our hearts, they pushed the culture and they made history. Their work should be recognized along with the other very deserving nominees,” Gosling who played “Ken” in the cult production proclaimed.

After making that statement, the actor said that he was extremely “honored” to receive the nomination.

“I am extremely honored to be nominated by my colleagues alongside such remarkable artists in a year of so many great films,” the actor stated. “And I never thought I’d be saying this, but I’m also incredibly honored and proud that it’s for portraying a plastic doll named Ken.”

“There is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this history-making, globally-celebrated film. No recognition would be possible for anyone on the film without their talent, grit, and genius,” Gosling said in a statement sent to People.

“I was incredibly disappointed that they weren’t nominated,” actress Ferrera lamented in a statement given to Variety.

“Greta has done just about everything that a director could do to deserve it,” she claimed. “Creating this world, and taking something that didn’t have inherent value to most people and making it a global phenomenon. It feels disappointing to not see her on that list.”

Social media exploded after the slight went viral.

“Never forget the system is rigged: Greta Gerwig made an incredible feminist movie about BARBIE which challenged culture & the patriarchy. The movie made a billion dollars at the box office. The Oscar nomination goes to KEN…” one person sneered.

“Ryan Gosling, while deserving, got an Oscar nomination for Barbie while Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie didn’t? Completely proving the point of the movie in 20 f***ing 24 you cannot make this up,” another person angrily stated.

The leftist outrage went on and on and on…

“Ken getting nominated and not Barbie is honestly so fitting for a film about a man discovering the power of patriarchy in the Real World,” an obvious progressive whined.

Still others just couldn’t find much to be really incensed about but they did find the left eating their own a curious development.

Investor Charles Payne wrote on X, “Is Ryan Gosling getting an Oscar nomination while Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie didn’t the antithesis of the ‘Barbie’ movie (I didn’t watch it nor will I bother with the Oscar’s)?”

The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro posted on X, “If Ryan Gosling’s Ken wins the only Oscar for ‘Barbie,’ it will be absolutely hilarious.”

The “Barbie” movie raked in over $1.44 billion worldwide, according to The Blaze.
