Oversight Committee’s top Republican says all eyes on Hunter Biden if GOP takes House

The top Republican on the House Oversight Committee plans to investigate the shady business dealings of Hunter Biden if the party manages to regain control of the lower chamber and return the lost concept of accountability to Congress.

Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, the committee’s current ranking member appeared on Fox News where he ran down a list of potential probes with getting some long overdue answers about the corruption of President Joe Biden’s drug-abusing son’s foreign relationships.

Comer talked with Fox News’s Pete Hegseth, filling in as the guest host on Friday’s edition of “Jesse Watters Primetime” where he laid out his agenda if the gavel is passed to him as committee chair.

“There’s so much for you to oversee on the Oversight Committee,” Hegseth asked. “Where does this rank in the priority? If you were to look at, ‘Here are the top three things we want to tackle,’ what would they be, congressman?”

“Well the top three, obviously, Biden family influence-peddling because we believe this is a national security risk,” Rep. Comer responded. “We believe a lot of the bad decisions Joe Biden’s made is because he’s compromised because of Hunter and his brother’s shady business dealings.”

“We also want to get to the bottom of the origination of COVID-19,” the congressman continued. “We believe that Dr. Fauci and Dr. Collins took steps to hinder investigations early on. We don’t think they’ve been honest with how they’ve spent a lot of tax dollars, especially when they went to the Wuhan lab.”

“And then the border, the debacle at the border,” Comer continued. “We already have whistleblowers that have come forward from Border Patrol that have told us specific conversations they’ve had with Mayorkas, where he is specifically telling them to stand down. So, those will be the top three investigations for the Republican Congress and the House Oversight Committee.”

However, the GOP regaining control of the House remains far from certain with their lead rapidly evaporating and the majority of the undecided races in Democrat territory as the election drags on and more votes are discovered days after the polls closed.

As of Saturday morning, there are still 23 seats in play with Republicans clinging to a precarious 211-201 lead, needing to win 7 more to secure a majority, according to the Fox News election tracker.

Even though his lurid exploits with hookers, drugs and guns have been fodder for headlines, Biden’s son has managed to avoid being made to come clean on his murky overseas dealings with shady Chinese and Ukrainian figures, revelations that could have prevented the disastrous Biden presidency from happening had the contents of his “laptop from Hell” been made public before the 2020 election when media and Big Tech engaged in censoring a bombshell New York Post story that could have tilted the election in then-President Donald J. Trump’s favor.

While probes into the Biden family, the origins of the virus that led to the unprecedented locking down of the country, and the ongoing border crisis would be a refreshing change in a Congress that is unified to protect the POTUS, any investigations are contingent on the GOP being able to retake the House and the longer that the counting continues, the less likely that becomes.
