Everything Elon Musk touches seems to turn to gold, much to the angst of those quick to criticize him because of his center-right views on issues like immigration and government efficiency.
When Musk purchased what was then Twitter, a deal set into motion after Twitter suspended the satire site The Babylon Bee, Musk endeavored to create a digital town square for free speech, firing top executives and laying off half of the company’s staff. Haters predicted impending doom, but Musk recently noted that X has more traffic today than ever before, having become the source for news for so many.
Meanwhile, rumors are swirling that Paramount is in talks with Musk to join a massive media merger, following the settlement of an antitrust lawsuit filed by California that’s expected to clear the way for its merger deal with Warner Bros. Discovery — landing Musk as a key investor would essentially drop CNN and CBS right into his lap.
Such a reality is seen as a hilarious, if not a fitting, outcome:
