Pelosi blames Republicans for bizarre hammer attack on her hubby

Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi likened Republicans to demonic creatures and blamed them for the bizarre attack on her husband who was bludgeoned with a hammer at the couple’s San Francisco home in 2022.

The 84-year-old Democrat, whose later years have been marked by a bizarre and dangerous obsession with former President Donald J. Trump, made the accusation during a Wednesday appearance on the party’s top propaganda network.

During an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, the speaker emerita discussed the election and hawked her new book titled “The Art of Power” which hit bookshelves on Tuesday. She also talked about the strange assault on Paul Pelosi after the host brought it up.

“Do you blame the people who targeted you and demonized you?” Mitchell asked.

“I think they take some responsibility for that,” Pelosi replied, continuing to assail Republicans who she accused of practicing the “politics of personal destruction” back to the Clinton years despite her own party’s vicious attacks on Trump that nearly led to him being assassinated last month.

“The Republican Party with cloven feet, head horns – really, actually, they started under Clinton, Hillary and Bill Clinton, they were the politics of personal destruction and then they transferred it to me,” she claimed, donning the mantle of victimhood while insisting that she has only been attacked because she’s “effective.”

“You know why? Because I was effective, I was getting bills passed, I was raising money to win the Congress and to retain that majority and the rest and they had to take me down,” Pelosi continued. “But when they were doing it, they went into a different territory of political debate and it fed a flame, it fueled a flame.”

“So that was before,” she added. “After to see the president of the United States, his family, some governors, leaders in the Republican party make a joke of it, that was pathetic for the party.”

Pelosi also harped about the so-called “insurrection” on January 6, 2021, an election integrity protest that spiraled out of control with many believing that the chaos was orchestrated and that she had a hand in it.

“Not as pathetic however…that after January 6th, assault on the Capitol, the Congress, the Constitution of the United States, that overwhelmingly the Republicans came back in the room and overwhelmingly voted not to accept the, the uh the, the voting of the Electoral College, peaceful transfer of power,” Pelosi claimed.

“So we have a problem here, we want to defuse it and that’s why, let’s not even talk about it, let’s just talk about the glory of Kamala and and Tim,” she said, referring to the newly crowned nominees after leading the coup to topple Joe Biden from the shadows.

“My goal in life was that that man would never set foot in the White House again,” Pelosi told reporters on Wednesday, according to the Washington Post which reported that she was “pounding the table nine times for emphasis and to explain why she acted,” referring to her leading the anti-Biden insurgency.

“Pelosi took positions that established her as a prophetic voice on the major moral issues of the day, warning early about the dangers of the Iraq War and of the Chinese government’s long record of misbehavior. This moral courage prepared her for the arrival of Trump, with whom she famously tangled, becoming a red-coated symbol of resistance to his destructive presidency. Here, she reveals how she went toe-to-toe with Trump, leading up to January 6, 2021, when he unleashed his post-election fury on the Congress,” reads the Amazon description of her new book.

“Pelosi gives us her personal account of that day: the assault not only on the symbol of our democracy but on the men and women who had come to serve the nation, never expecting to hide under desks or flee for their lives—and her determined efforts to get the National Guard to the Capitol. Nearly two years later, violence and fury would erupt inside Pelosi’s own home when an intruder, demanding to see the Speaker, viciously attacked her beloved husband, Paul. Here, Pelosi shares that horrifying day and the traumatic aftermath for her and her family,” according to the description.
