Fearful Megyn Kelly not sugarcoating the power of ‘amazing’ speaker Walz: ‘This guy scares me’

Megyn Kelly thinks Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is “the most radical” person the Democratic Party could come up with to be the vice presidential nominee.

The host of “The Megyn Kelly Show” told listeners on Wednesday that the leftist governor “scares” her and his choice as a running mate for Vice President Kamala Harris is more than concerning.

“I’ve been thinking about Walz since yesterday, and he’s the most radical they could find on the trans issue,” Kelly said.

“As I said yesterday, he’s another Gavin Newsom. There’s just almost no daylight between those two, if any at all, which is an issue very important to me personally, and my audience as well,” she continued.

“This guy scares me,” Kelly admitted.

“He scares me because he actually could become the vice president and potentially the president, and I’m gonna be honest with you in the audience, I watched him last night and I thought he was amazing. He is a spectacular speaker, he was charming, he had that rally in the palm of his hand,” she added, speaking of the first campaign rally for Walz and Harris in Philadelphia.

“He’s way more effective than she is, or Joe Biden is, and I genuinely feel like for the first time that I can remember, had like a feeling of fear rise up in my throat because I know what he’s permitting in Minnesota when it comes to children,” Kelly said.

Former President Donald Trump has called Walz a “smarter version” of Harris.

“You know, nobody knew how radical left she [Harris] was, but he’s a smarter version of her if you want to know the truth,” Trump told the “Fox & Friends” crew on Wednesday.

“He’s probably about the same as Bernie Sanders, he’s probably more so than Bernie Sanders, she is more so than Bernie Sanders. That’s got to be your guide, Bernie Sanders, and it’s not a great guide,” the Republican presidential nominee added. “But this is, there’s never been a ticket like this. This is a ticket that would want this country to go communist immediately, if not sooner.”

Kelly focused on the transgender policies enacted under the Minnesota governor’s leadership and warned about what could happen if he is in charge on a national level.

“He is pedal to the metal, full steam ahead on all of it. So when I watched him dazzle last night– I’m not going to vote for him, I’ve been honest about that, but I recoiled,” Kelly said, playing a clip of Walz speaking at the rally.

“I see why she chose him. He’s great and he’s better than she is in his rhetoric,” she concluded.

“Walz, who has served as Minnesota’s governor since 2019, helped make Minnesota a refuge for LGBTQ Americans, and transgender Americans in particular,” The Hill reported. “In 2023, an executive order signed by Walz made Minnesota among the first states to safeguard access to gender-affirming health care, and laws signed by the governor since have banned conversion therapy and the use of the gay and trans ‘panic’ defenses.”
