Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) wants to make it clear she had no knowledge of her colleague’s alleged sexual misconduct.
If the stories are to be believed, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) managed to get away with allegedly sexually harassing and/or assaulting women without anyone in his own party having any idea. First, Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) denied having any inkling of his “best friend’s” behavior, even going so far as to insinuate that Swalwell “is not the person I thought I knew.” While it’s not impossible to be friends with someone living a double life, the number of accusers keeps growing, and many people are finding it difficult to believe he could keep that much bad behavior under wraps.
Now, Pelosi is taking her turn at denying any knowledge of potential misconduct from Swalwell.

“Some Republicans and others are saying that Democrats turned kind of a blind eye, that they knew what [Swalwell] was up to or what the allegations were-” the interviewer said, interrupted by Pelosi’s fervent denials.
“No, that’s not true. That is absolutely positive- It’s true that they may say that, but it is absolutely not true,” she said.
“You had no idea?” the interviewer pressed.
“None whatsoever. None whatsoever. I had none whatsoever,” she affirmed repeatedly.
“What happens in California now? He was, in many of the polls, the leading [gubernatorial] candidate; that’s gone. There’s an army of candidates out there, and California has this quirky law, because it’s ranked primaries, right, where you could end up with two Republicans on the ballot,” the interviewer pointed out.
“I agree that it is a quirky law, I do not agree that there would be two Republicans at the top,” she chuckled.
