House Speaker Nancy Pelosi got testy with her media “friends” when pressed during her weekly briefing Thursday about ongoing inflation and spiked gas prices.

“Do you think that the public is blaming Democrats,” an unnamed reporter or “friend” asked her.

No, I don’t think the public’s blaming Democrats. I think they’re blaming the oil companies,” Pelosi replied, looking confused.

This prompted the reporter to then ask, “But they won’t take that out on your side in the midterms even if you pass this bill and the prices don’t get better?”

This question left the speaker completely shocked and confused.

No, I don’t think so. Why would we say that? I don’t think what you’re saying is making much sense, frankly. In all fairness, we’re friends; candor is part of our friendship,” she said.

Watch:

The speaker’s remarks demonstrated a stunning disconnect from reality, as multiple polls have shown that the public primarily blames President Joe Biden — and thus the Democrats — for inflation.

“When asked about who they blame for an increase in gas prices, a plurality (39%) blame the Biden Administration, 21% blame the sanctions on Russia, and 18% blame gas and oil companies,” according to an Emerson College survey published in March.

“The latest … national telephone and online survey finds that 64% of Likely U.S. Voters believe the policies of Biden’s administration have increased inflation, while only eight percent (8%) think Biden’s policies have reduced inflation. Another 25% say the Biden administration’s policies have not made much difference in inflation,” according to a Rasmussen Reports poll released around the same time.

A more recent poll conducted this month by Public Opinion Strategies on behalf of Americans for Prosperity found that 61 percent of Americans blame the president for inflation.

The speaker’s remarks also appeared to demonstrate a lack of a coherent message, because during the same briefing Thursday, she blamed inflation on Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We call it the Putin price hike,” she said.

She’s been touting the same message on social media, where she’s been ratioed into oblivion over her blame game stunts.

Look:

Note what one critic wrote: “THIS IS YOUR FAULT. WHILE YOU GET RICH, YOU ARE DESTROYING MY COUNTRY. You are one evil woman.”

The critic was correct about Pelosi and her husband profiting mightily as the American people suffer in despair.

As previously reported, as of 2020, the pair had accumulated a combined $315,000,000 in wealth — wealth that reportedly didn’t really explode into existence until after Pelosi was elected to Congress in 1987.

“The couple has timed the market perfectly over the years while Nancy’s been a Washington insider. Real, estate stocks — the Pelosis always know what the right investment is. Since getting married, they’ve acquired a mansion in Napa Valley, a vineyard home worth up to 25 million — [a] real luxury,” according to Fox News’ Jesse Watters.

Apparently left unaddressed at Thursday’s briefing was the otherwise bombshell news that the U.S. economy shrunk by 1.4 percent last quarter, meaning America is entering into a period of stagflation — and a possible potential recession — even as Democrats continue to claim the economy is booming …
