U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., is telling Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., to sit down and shut up.
While speaking to Kayleigh McEnany on Fox News’ “Saturday in America,” the lawmaker trashed the aging socialist for supporting problematic Democratic candidates and hurting the party’s chances in upcoming elections.

“It’s hilarious, you know? Bernie is there campaigning for this guy,” Fetterman said of Michigan candidate Abdul el-Sayed. ” You know, humble yourself, Bernie. You just pushed an accused rapist that imploded up in Maine, and now you’re pushing, essentially, a pro-Hamas candidate that’s been anti-American and deeply anti-Israel. You know, he’s a ‘socialist’ that earned $700,000 last year. His wife, in private practice, she refuses to accept Medicaid for that. I mean, he’s a phony, and he has said incredibly anti-American things.”
“And I would remind all the Democrats, he participated and was very involved in the no-commitment vote, you know, during the campaign when Harris was running for president. The uncommitted one, whatever the crazies were doing that year. And he is running, and now I’d also like to point out that 44% of Muslims have positive views of Hamas,” the senator continued. “I mean, that’s a legit poll, that’s Pew. And now how do you campaign and not just acknowledge that, you know? El-Sayed, he has said Israel is as evil as Hamas, so that’s not my Democrat; that’s not someone I could ever support. These — these are the kind of candidates that Bernie keeps pushing.”
“Look at the kinds of train wrecks that have been elected in New York as well too. Now, if I was responsible for what happened in Maine, you know, with P-Hustle, you know, I would say I’m going to sit a few out now. I’m going to recalibrate my things. But now here he is back in Michigan and pushing an extreme kind of guy that, absolutely, if he does win, that would put Michigan right in play,” he added.
“I want to ask you about this, ” McEnany wondered. “You said a red line for you would be if the Democratic Party officially abandoned Israel. And we know that a majority voted against giving aid to Israel, but you said if they put it in their platform. Do you have other red lines? Because the water’s nice over here in the Republican Party; there are a lot of Republicans who would welcome you.”
“It’s not necessarily about the Republican Party. It’s really more about, you know, what I’ve been saying. The Democratic Party’s becoming more and more openly anti-Israel, really hostile towards that. Now organizations like J Street are making it okay to vote against Iron Dome. You know, fundamentally, the most defensive kinds of system, voting against that. That’s outrageous as well,” Fetterman explained. “If you make parts of our platform as a Democratic Party anti-Israel, we would never be able to support aid for Israel. Or if we described Israel as a genocidal state, almost 80 of Democrats now believe Israel has engaged in genocide. I reject that.”
“That’s our special ally and has the kinds of values that we have, and we want as a Democrat in our country right now,” he said of Israel.
