Police say Disney worker preyed on unsuspecting women, taking hundreds of ‘upskirt’ videos

A now-former Walt Disney World employee was arrested late last month for recording an “upskirt” video of a female customer using his phone.

“Jorge Diaz Vega, 26, worked at the Star Wars gift shop inside Disney World’s Hollywood Studios theme park in Florida until his recent arrest on one count of video voyeurism, a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison,” the Associated Press reported Sunday.

“According to court records filed by Orange County Sheriff’s detectives, Vega was spotted by a witness shooting a video up an 18-year-old woman’s skirt. She later told security officers she was not aware of Vega’s actions,” the AP added.

As if this weren’t bad enough, the story only proceeds to get worse: While Vega was being interrogated by the police, he admitted that he’s recorded over 500 “upskirt” videos over the past six years.

“Detectives said that Vega volunteered during questioning that he takes the videos as a ‘guilty pleasure’ and showed them multiple examples on his cellphone,” according to the AP.

The guy’s clearly a real sicko. But as previously reported, he’s not the only one at Disney:

A child predator sting conducted last summer nabbed one Disney World employee, along with 11 others.

“Operation Child Protector II” resulted in 49 felony charges and the arrest of twelve men ranging in age from 20 to 67 after a two-week sting where detectives posed as children online to identify and investigate individuals preying on underage kids for sex and other unlawful sexual activities, the Florida Polk County Sheriff’s Office disclosed in a press release at the time.

Zachary Hudson, 30, a bus driver at Walt Disney World, unknowingly engaged with a detective posing as a 15-year-old girl between June 4 and 5 of last year. At one point the faux teen asked Hudson if he was OK with her age.

Police said he replied that it was no problem as long as “my being older doesn’t bother you.” Later, he reportedly told the girl that “age is just a number.”

Their online conversation eventually moved to text messages, where the police alleged Hudson told the girl what sexual acts he wanted to perform with her and that he would be “honored” if she would lose her virginity to him.

Hudson also reportedly sent the faux teenager a nude photo of himself.

Another sting conducted two years earlier in 2020 nabbed 17 suspects, including two Disney employees, who were accused of downloading and/or distributing child pornography.

“[Polk County Sheriff Grady] Judd said a search warrant was executed in Davenport, Florida at a home shared by 32-year-old Justin Hazan and 36-year-old Arlandres Sims. Hazan reportedly told detectives he works at Hollywood Studios as an operator on the Millenium Falcon ride. He reportedly admitted to downloading and possessing child pornography. He was charged with 15 counts,” station WFLA reported at the time.

“Hazan’s roommate, Sims, also works at Disney as a food runner at the Animal Kingdom Resort. He was also arrested and charged with 25 counts of child pornography,” the station added.

Their arrests turned out to be serendipitous.

“When we went to the house, we went after Arlandres Sims. We also found out that his roommate from Disney, Justin Hazan, also was looking at child porn. [Detectives] didn’t know that. So during the investigation, our detectives found it kind of humorous. Arlandres actually said, ‘You’re doing it too?'” Judd told WFLA.

A year earlier in 2019, two other Disney employees were busted on the exact same sorts of charges.

“Brett Kinney, 40, of Lake Alfred, Florida, told investigators he was a guest experience manager at Disney World. … Kinney was arrested and charged with one count of promotion of child pornography and 24 counts of possession of child pornography-enhanced,” CNN reported at the time.

“A second Disney employee, Donald Durr Jr., was also arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Durr, 52, of Davenport, Florida, told investigators he was a custodial worker at Walt Disney Resorts. He was arrested and charged with eight counts of possession of child pornography and one count of promotion of sexual performance by a child.”

Dovetailing back to the present, word of the latest predator at Disney comes the same week that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis proposed commandeering some of Disney’s property and using it to build a state prison.

“DeSantis said he has authorized state agencies to increase regulatory oversight of Disney operations, such as the monorail system and amusement rides. He suggested the DeSantis-controlled oversight board could sell the Disney-run utility and negotiate with the state to use the company’s land for other purposes,” the Tampa Bay Times reported.

“Maybe create a state park, maybe try to do more amusement parks. Someone even said like, maybe you need another state prison. Who knows? I mean, I just think that the possibilities are endless,” the governor reportedly said.
