Indoctrination overload and demonization found one key demographic skewing increasingly to the right while viewing former President Donald Trump “as an anti-hero.”
Between pop cultures push for moral ambiguity and the state’s slide away from the nation’s founding Judeo-Christian principles toward the advancement of secularism, views on right and wrong along with good and evil have noticeably blurred.
However, as young adults had shown themselves to favor their truth over the truth, a new Harvard Kennedy School poll found the newest generation of voters was swinging away from progressive ideology toward conservatism.
Splitting the 18-to-29-year-old demographic found those aged 24 and younger among men and women alike to lean more conservative than those over the age of 25 as, “America’s youngest voters turn right.”
According to the survey, among men there was a five point turn toward conservatism at 26%-21% while the youngest women were three points more conservative than their older counterparts. Moderates remained at 48% on both ends of the demographic spectrum.

“This polls reveals a significant shift in the overall vibe and preferences of young Americans as the campaign heads into the final stretch,” said Harvard Institute of Politics Polling Director John Della Volpe.
He went on to tell Axios, “They think of Trump as an anti-hero and not a villain…I think it’s less about policy and much more about personality.”
Further breaking down the preferences that left Vice President Kamala Harris ahead by 32% among likely voters 18-to-29-years-old, on issues like the economy, national security, the Israel-Hamas War and the border, Trump led Harris by slim margins whereas the bulk of her support appeared to derive from holding double digit advantages on abortion, climate change, health care and education.
“Vice President Harris has strengthened the Democratic position among young voters, leading Trump on key issues and personal qualities,” said Della Volpe. “Gen Z and young millennials’ heightened enthusiasm signals a potentially decisive role for the youth vote in 2024.”
Harris’ push on social issues while avoiding substantiating her policies where the federal government is actually supposed to be involved helped drive enthusiasm the low information, vibe voters as the polling found 74% of young Democrats were “definitely” going to vote compared to only 60% of young Republicans.
“In just a few weeks, Vice President Harris has drummed up a wave of enthusiasm among young voters. The shift we are seeing toward Harris is seismic, driven largely by young women. Our poll provides a deep dive into the values of this generation that will drive them to the polls in November,” said Anil Cacodcar, chair of the Harvard Public Opinion Project. “Harris is enjoying a perfect storm of personal appeal, policy support, and positive reach on social media.”
In other words, the get out the vote effort remained critical in determining who would come out on top in November.
