‘Poor thing!’ Gutfeld has no sympathy for Geraldo kvetching on ‘The View’ about ‘toxic’ relationship

Fox News host and humorist Greg Gutfeld demonstrated how last laughs truly work with a cutting dismissal of former colleague Geraldo Rivera’s kvetching about “unfair” treatment to “The View.”

“…poor thing.”

With heated exchanges between the former co-hosts on “The Five” now a thing of the past, Gutfeld cut to the point with his rebuttal of their alleged “toxic relationship.” After Rivera was unceremoniously dropped from the network’s lead program, and ultimately showed himself the door, he fittingly joined ABC’s panel of daily commiserating in search of sympathy.

The host of “Gutfeld!” led with that Thursday when he introduced clips of the appearance from earlier in the day and mocked, “First, let’s go to ‘The View’ where I’d like to report a murder.”

“I was fired from ‘The Five.’ I had a very toxic relationship with another of the cast members,” Rivera had said, hinting at Gutfeld as previously reported.

“I thought it was very unfair that I was not judged objectively in our disputes,” the lamenting continued, “but rather he was always favored…”

“No, no, no, no, no, poor thing,” Gutfeld responded to the clip dismissively. “In lieu of flowers we’ve setup a GoFundMe page to get him a barber. But, I credit ‘The View’ with finally finding a guest with a bigger mustache than their panelists.”

“They’re a hairy bunch,” the host added and left the topic of Rivera at that. He wasn’t the only one pointing out the whining though as social media had similar takes regarding the appearance alongside Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Whoppi Goldberg.

Further proof of Rivera’s perspective being out of touch came with his take on former Fox News primetime host Tucker Carlson’s ousting that has landed the commentator on Twitter.

“I think that he is an excellent writer. I think that he was very charismatic in his presentation. He was number one for a reason — was a pretty good show. Then he drifted into this murky area where — swampy area where, you know, these conspiracy theories and it’s not just Jan. 6, a whole bunch of different kinda mucky kinda conspiracies,” Rivera said Thursday adding he would “never forgive Tucker for what he did about Jan. 6.”

“Fox is a tremendous platform. And once you lose that platform, you’re kind of screaming in the wilderness and competing with a lot of other people who have podcasts and so forth,” the out-of-work personality continued. “So will he be the same character? I don’t know.”

Of course, in addition to his thus far successful Twitter show which has seemingly drawn in millions more views than his former primetime slot on Fox News, Carlson would go on Friday to host the first presidential forum of the 2024 primary in Iowa, at times earning more far more enthusiasm than some of the candidates he was interviewing.
