Projected images hit Trump tower in Chicago, DNC is warned: ‘This is defamation like never seen before’

Projections prompted predictions of prosecution as a Democratic Party stunt continued to promote a debunked claim about former President Donald Trump — on one of his buildings.

“This is defamation like never seen before.”

Demonstrating their excessive commitment to gaslighting even their own base, planning for the Democratic National Convention in Chicago included reserving a room for the purpose of trolling the GOP. The result was messages displayed on Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago advancing their narratives, including another stab at connecting the president to Project 2025.

“BREAKING: The DNC is now projecting the phrase ‘Project 2025 HQ’ on Trump Tower in Downtown Chicago,” the account @BehizyTweets shared on X Sunday. “Whoever came up with this idea, expect to pay Trump millions of dollars in damages for this stupidity. This is defamation like never seen before.”

Of course, the Democrats had no issue taking credit for the stunt that also included messages like: “TRUMP-VANCE ‘WEIRD AS HELL,'” “TRUMP-VANCE OUT FOR THEMSELVES” and “HARRIS-WALZ FIGHTING FOR YOU.”

A statement from DNC spokesperson Abhi Rahman explained, “All eyes are on Chicago, and tonight everyone is seeing a preview of the contrast that will take center stage this week throughout the Democratic National Convention. Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz have proven records of delivering for working families, and now, they’re running to lead our country into a brighter future.”

“Donald Trump and JD Vance are running on their backwards Project 2025 agenda, which would undermine working families and take away their freedoms,” he claimed as NBC News reported the messages were also displayed in Spanish. “This week, the entire country will witness what it looks like to unite behind hope and a clear vision for a better future, as Democrats rally behind Vice President Harris and Governor Walz. While Donald Trump and JD Vance are out for themselves, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are fighting for you.”

Rahman went on to share one of the projections on his own X account with the caption, “While @TheDemocrats are joyfully celebrating in Chicago, residents of Chi-town are seeing a special message projected on Trump tower.”

Despite continued efforts from the Democratic Party to connect Trump to the think tank proposal from The Heritage Foundation, the president has unequivocally distanced himself from the plan, stating, “I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they’re saying and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them.”

Meanwhile, Newsweek detailed that throughout the week as the president made campaign stops in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada to discuss his actual policy positions on the economy, crime, national security, the border, and his “No Tax on Tips” proposal, the Trump property in Chicago was set to be “the backdrop for Republican counter planning during the Democratic National Convention. Reports have claimed daily briefings will be held there.”

At the time of this post, Trump had yet to offer a public response to the projections, but many supporters tacked on to the suggestion that legal trouble could be in the future for the DNC.
