MSNBC host Rachel Maddow is “worried” about what might happen to her if former President Donald Trump is reelected.
CNN senior media reporter Oliver Darcy interviewed Maddow for the Monday edition of the Reliable Sources newsletter, asking her if she has any specific fears about a potential second Trump term.
“Trump and his allies are openly talking about weaponizing the government to seek revenge against critics in media and politics, with some of his extremist allies even talking about jailing their fellow Americans,” Darcy claimed. “You’re one of his most notable critics on television. Are you worried that you could be a target?”
“I’m worried about the country broadly if we put someone in power who is openly avowing that he plans to build camps to hold millions of people, and to ‘root out’ what he’s described in subhuman terms as his ‘enemy from within.’ Again, history is helpful here,” she replied. “He’s not joking when he says this stuff, and we’ve seen what happens when people take power proclaiming that kind of agenda.”
“I think there’s a little bit of head-in-the-sand complacency that Trump only intends to go after individual people he has already singled out. Do you really think he plans to stop at well-known liberals?” Maddow asked, expanding her fearmongering hypothetical scenario. “It also seems pretty clear that some people in politics might think they’ll be on the safe side — that they might even benefit from it — if they side with Trump. Ask Mike Pence about how that works out in the end.”
“When Trump invokes the Insurrection Act to deploy the U.S. military against civilians on his first day in office, do you think he then rescinds the order on day two?” she continued.
“For that matter, what convinces you that these massive camps he’s planning are only for migrants? So, yes, I’m worried about me — but only as much as I’m worried about all of us,” the liberal host concluded.
It’s worth noting that Trump was asked about this very topic during an interview with Fox News. As BizPac Review previously reported, Trump said that while he would have “every right” to go after those who have persecuted and prosecuted him, he would not.
“It has to stop because otherwise, we’re not going to have a country,” Trump said. “Look, when this election is over, based on what they’ve done, I would have every right to go after them, and it’s easy because it’s Joe Biden and you see all the criminality, all of the money that’s going into the family and him, all of this money from China, from Russia, from Ukraine.”
“When Biden goes out and everyone says, ‘Bye-bye,’ and then he gets indicted two days later — the country doesn’t want that,” he continued. “They didn’t want it with Hillary Clinton either.”

Social media weighed in on Maddow’s fears:
Rachel Maddow just jumped on the “Trump is gonna get me if he wins” train.
She’s sitting next to AOC, who’s serving nasty ass drinks.
And Robert DeNiro who’s crying and shaking and beating off in the corner.
Which begs the question:
What did you guys do that Donald Trump…
