Rashida Tlaib’s reaction to Antifa thugs sentenced to 450 years in prison is raising eyebrows

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Michigan, is having a totally normal reaction to Antifa members being sentenced for their crimes.

Nine activists were found guilty after a July 4, 2025, protest went sideways, resulting in one Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent being shot. The group was slapped with a host of charges as a result of the violence.

“The demonstrators arrived late at night with a plan to set off fireworks as part of a noise demonstration to show solidarity with those detained inside. A few of the protesters spontaneously broke off from the main group and vandalized cars in the parking lot, a guard shack, slashed the tires on a government van and broke a security camera. When a police officer arrived on the scene and drew his weapon, one of the activists fired an AR-15 from the woods, hitting the officer in the shoulder. The officer survived,” The Guardian reported.

The man who fired that round, Benjamin Song, was sentenced to 100 years in prison after being convicted of attempted murder of an officer of the United States, and firearm and explosives charges.

Zachary Evetts, Autumn Hill, Savanna Batten, Elizabeth Soto and Meagan Morris were all sentenced to 50 years, while Maricela Rueda got hit with 70 years. They were all convicted of riot, providing material support to terrorism, and explosive charges, while Rueda received an additional conviction for corruptly concealing a document or record.

This was outrageous to Tlaib, who justified the actions as a simple attempt to “cling to power” through “brute force.”

“These sentences are a travesty and totally unjustified, but that’s the point. Americans hate the fascist Trump regime, so the only way they can try to cling to power is brute force. NSPM-7 is a grave threat to all of us and more bullshit ‘terrorism’ charges like these are coming,” she wrote in an X post on Tuesday.

X users were less than impressed with her reaction:
