Ray Epps, the mysterious figure who many believe was acting on behalf of the feds to stir up protesters during the so-called “insurrection” is mulling a lawsuit against podcasting king Joe Rogan, his lawyer said.
During a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” his popular Spotify podcast, Rogan implied that January 6 was an operation by the intelligence agencies to frame former President Donald J. Trump, a man who they are hellbent on destroying even if the entire country also gets burned to the ground. He mentioned Epps’ possible role in the “false flag” although he did not actually state that he was a player for the feds.
On Thursday’s edition of Mediaite’s “The Interview” podcast, attorney Michael Teter who represents the 61-year-old ex-Marine from Arizona said that a defamation lawsuit against Rogan could be on the table. Epps has recently sued Fox News over remarks made by fired host Tucker Carlson.
‘We’re looking at all options,’ Teter told the outlet’s Diana Falzone. “Defamation has a relatively short statute of limitations, and we did not become counsel for Ray until earlier this year. So there are some limitations on what we can pursue or not pursue”
“The fact that people like Joe Rogan continue to propagate the lie that Ray Epps participated in a false flag operation to instigate the January 6th riots demonstrates the widespread and lasting harm that Fox News has done to Ray,” Teter said in a statement to Mediaite. “Without Fox’s and Tucker Carlson’s lies, Ray would be unknown and unassailed, running his wedding venue business with his wife and enjoying the ranch he and Robyn built. Instead, Ray continues to face the destructive consequences of Fox’s decision to target him with falsehoods. Joe Rogan’s comments are just the most recent proof of the perpetual damage inflicted by Fox.”
“A lot of it depends on what people continue to say,” Teter said.
“I don’t know but I do know that every other person who was involved in January 6th, who was involved in coordinating a break in into the Capitol and instigating people breaking in they were all arrested, this guy wasn’t,” Rogan told comic Jim Gaffigan who was his guest, alleging that Epps was an instigator in the J6 chaos.

“Not only that they were defending him in the Washington Post, The New York Times, all those different things saying Fox News is unjustly accused him of instigating. Well he clearly instigated. He did it on-camera,” Rogan added. “I don’t know if he was a fed. I know a lot of people think he was a fed. The people that were there were calling him a fed. What I do know is when they asked the FBI, the FBI said we can’t tell you whether or not that they’re people that were there that were doing that.”
“I think, first and foremost, that truth matters, that there will be accountability in this country going forward for lies that are told by the media, knowing lies, vicious lies, lies that are, again, with malice,” Teter told the outlet. “People want there to be accountability in the media. They want to look to the media for truth and accuracy, and fair reporting. I think that most in the media do not just strive but actually achieve that. And so I think that holding accountable those operations that don’t aim to be fair, don’t aim to be truthful is an important part of the lesson here for everybody.”
