Reactions to Trump scoring big ex-Dem endorsement: ‘Wonder Woman just joined the Justice League’

Former President Donald Trump’s unity team just recruited its “Wonder Woman” as another onetime Democratic presidential hopeful stepped up with her endorsement.

A somber day ended with something to celebrate for the Trump campaign after the GOP leader marked the third anniversary of the tragic loss of 13 service members in Afghanistan with a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. From there, he headed to Detroit, Michigan Monday to speak at the National Guard Association of the United States Conference where former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard officially backed his campaign.

The U.S. Army Reserve lieutenant colonel who’d accompanied Trump in honoring the fallen alongside some of the Gold Star families explained in her remarks, “We as Americans must stand together to reject this anti-freedom culture of political retaliation and abuse of power. We can’t allow our country to be destroyed by politicians who will put their own power ahead of the interests of the American people, our freedom, and our future.”

“I am proud to stand here before you today, whether you’re a Democrat, a Republican, or an Independent,” she told those gathered as she focused on the president’s record as commander-in-chief. “If you love our country, as I do, if you cherish peace and freedom as we do, I invite you to join me in doing all that we can to save our country and elect President Donald J. Trump and send him back to the White House to do the tough work of saving our country and serving the people.”

Having drawn a stark contrast with Vice President Kamala Harris the same day the Democrat’s campaign appeared to be raising doubts about participation in a debate, some social media users were keen to remind how Gabbard herself had leveled the then-California senator at a 2020 primary debate.

“Now, Sen. Harris says she’s proud of her record as a prosecutor and that she’ll be a prosecutor president. But I’m deeply concerned about this record,” the then-congresswoman said. “There are too many examples to cite, but she put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about when asked if she ever smoked marijuana, she blocked evidence…that would have freed an innocent man from death row until the courts forced her to do so, she kept people in prison beyond their sentences to use them as cheap labor for the state of California and she fought to keep cash bail system in place.”

Another user tacked on to the post from Townhall columnist Dustin Grage, “Kamala then turned around and defamed Tulsi, a veteran, and baselessly accused her of being a Russian agent.”

Recently, Gabbard addressed how she had become a target of the Biden-Harris administration after Federal Air Marshall whistleblowers revealed she was included in the “Quiet Skies” TSA surveillance program — a domestic terror watchlist.

The lieutenant colonel told Fox News host Laura Ingraham, “This is a clear act of political retaliation. There’s no other way to put it,” after she had contended that, if elected, “Harris would essentially be a mouthpiece and puppet of the Military Industrial Complex and National Security State.”

When she left Congress and the Democratic Party in 2022, Gabbard notably referred to the leftist politicians as an “elitist cabal of warmongers.”

Now, as she followed Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s lead in uniting behind the movement he described as vying for a return to “a nation brimming with vitality, with a can-do spirit, with hope and a belief in itself,” the environmental attorney was among those lauding the impact of her support as he posted on X, “Wonder Woman just joined the Justice League.”
