UPDATED: Religious themed artwork not allowed at White House Easter Egg event

Editor’s Note: Additional information indicates the Biden White House was not the first to exercise a ban on religious symbolism at Easter activities. In fact, the rule goes back decades and was not in any way altered by Biden or White House staff.

Easter may be Christianity’s holiest day but National Guard children won’t be allowed to use religious-themed decorations at this year’s White House holiday celebration.

When the White House holds the traditional annual event which includes the Easter “egg roll” on Monday, Jesus Christ won’t be invited, a sadly predictable snub from an administration that has championed moral and sexual degeneracy.

According to a flyer for the “Celebrating National Guard Families” event, entries “must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements.”

“As part of the White House Easter traditions, America’s Egg Farmers – for nearly 50 years – have proudly presented an intricately decorated Commemorative Easter Egg to the First Lady of the United States. In 2021, the White House expanded on this longstanding tradition by displaying youth-designed Easter eggs in the White House East Colonnade,” according to the flyer.

“On behalf of First Lady Jill Biden, The Adjutants General of the National Guard are asking youth from National Guard families across the United States and all U.S. territories to submit artwork inspired by the theme ‘Celebrating our Military Families,’” the flyer reads.

Kids are encouraged to depict a “snapshot of their life” in templates.

“Selected designs representing the unique experience and stories of National Guard children will be brought to life on real hen eggs by talented egg artists from across the country and displayed at the White House this Easter and Passover season,” the flyer states.

On Thursday, the White House announced that this year’s event will once again feature an “EGGucation” theme.

“Today, the White House announced the full program of activities for the 2024 White House Easter Egg Roll, a tradition dating back to 1878. A teacher for more than 30 years, First Lady Jill Biden is continuing her theme of “EGGucation” for the event, transforming the South Lawn and Ellipse into a school community, full of fun educational activities for children of all ages to enjoy,” the White House said in a statement.

The White House expects around 40,000 people to participate in the event which will be held on Monday.

X users blasted the exclusion of religion from a religious holiday.

In other holiday-related news, the White House observed Good Friday with a proclamation marking something called the Transgender Day of Visibility.
