Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) said she’s filing charges against a Code Pink activist who she said “smacked” her during a Wednesday incident on Capitol Hill.
The Florida Republican spoke to TMZ about the confrontation with the group’s founder, Medea Benjamin, who followed her out of the Capitol after a House hearing during which she asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio about the left-wing group and its alleged ties to the communist Chinese government.
“So I was questioning Secretary Rubio on Code Pink, which is a foreign-funded organization, and I’ve been going after FARA, et cetera. And so as I was leaving, they were asking questions. I don’t have an issue answering questions, but when you’re berating me and trying to block me from being able to come vote, it’s an issue,” Luna told reporter Jacob Wasserman.

“But I continued to answer them. I was walking out of Rayburn, and as we were trying to walk away from them, I guess they didn’t like what I was saying, so one of the lead organizers actually smacked me. And so at that point, I broke contact,” the MAGA lawmaker explained, according to a transcript.
Luna said that she was filing charges in a post to X.
“After I questioned Secretary Rubio on Code Pink and their ties to the CCP, their organization followed me out, berated me, and then their head person here in DC smacked me,” she wrote. “I will be filing charges.”

The conservative congresswoman also said that she has asked Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson to ban the Code Pink troublemakers from the building.
I have asked the Speaker to ban Code Pink. I was just physically hit by their head organizer. This is right after I questioned Secretary Rubio about them. It is time Speaker Johnson ban them.

Code Pink also posted a slowed-down and zoomed-in clip to claim that Benjamin never “smacked” a sitting member of the United States Congress.
Nobody hit her.
Instead of answering for the war crimes she supports, this AIPAC-funded congresswoman continues to lie about activists. https://t.co/tIWMmzPHsl pic.twitter.com/nkVzfE30oI

The group pulled a Hillary Clinton on its post, turning off the replies.
“Why did you limit comments?” Luna asked. “Interesting. Bottom line is, if I ever put my hand on a Code Pink activist, your org would be flipping out. You crossed a personal boundary that should NEVER be crossed. Point blank period. Instead of diverting attention from the real issue, take responsibility and own it.”
“Code Pink is a CCP-funded op, and news flash: you don’t get to smack my arm if you don’t like my responses or the fact that I questioned Secretary Rubio about your communist organization,” the GOP lawmaker said in another X post. “I couldn’t care less how much random Democrats want to defend what happened. You don’t get to touch me. You don’t get to hit my arm. You don’t get to come to my office and scream and yell. You can hate my politics all you want, but if you touch me, you cross the line.”

“BTW, Code Pink is awfully quiet about the Uyghur Muslims in China being forced into re-education camps. I wonder why,” Luna added.
