President Donald Trump was tight-lipped when asked about U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro’s job security.
The president has made it clear that he is displeased with the recent decision to drop a felony destruction of government property charge against former Olympic canoeist David Hearn. Pirro claimed “flawed installation” had been the source of the damage, while Trump maintains that vandals had played a part in the destruction.
As he was leaving an RNC fundraising dinner in Rancho Palos Verdes, he stopped to field questions from curious reporters who were interested in the state of the pair’s relationship.

“Well, I just think she’s totally wrong,” Trump told the reporter. “They did a beautiful job. There were a couple of little things, but that was not a big deal. And everybody saw the vandalism, all you have to do is look at the tape. If you look at the tape– plus, we have a witness or two witnesses that saw the vandalism. So, certainly, there was vandalism. It was actually, in my opinion, it was major vandalism. And I told her I was not happy.”
“Is she safe?” another reporter wondered. “Are you gonna keep her in the position?”
“Uh, I haven’t made a determination,” the president responded.
In his previous public criticism of Pirro, the president accused her of “folding like an umbrella.”
“Jeanine Pirro made a mistake,” he said. “There was vandalism.”
“Frankly, I think she choked,” Trump added. “Because the judge was really vicious. Instead of going after the people that did it, the judge went after her and went after her department, and I guess she choked. I don’t know what the hell happened.”
“I was disappointed with Jeanine Pirro!” he said later. “Really disappointed with Jeanne Pirro! She folded like an umbrella! And people get away with things, and it’s a disgrace!”
Trump also went after the judge on Truth Social Saturday, defending the contractors.
“I disagree 100% with Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, on the Reflecting Pool. I don’t know what she was thinking? To me, it was a pure case of VANDALISM, that included the grass, which had a big 86 47 emblazoned in giant letters on it, and other elements of the surrounding area. There may have been some contractor difficulty, but the major damage was caused by VANDALS!” he raged in a post that included a photo of the grass.
