Reporter asks White House spox directly whether Biden can survive a second term

Days after President Joe Biden took a hard fall after tripping over a sandbag he apparently didn’t see and then slammed his 80-year-old noggin into the roof of Marine One, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about the likelihood of Biden surviving another four-year term if he is reelected.

Citing comments from former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who is running in the 2024 Republican primary, suggesting that a vote for Biden is also a vote for Vice President Kamala Harris to be president, Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich asked at Monday’s press briefing, “What do you say to anyone who is questioning whether the president would survive a full four-year term?”

If you were expecting a “fuhgeddaboudit” from the president’s diversity hire spokesperson, or for her to say “get outta here,” set yourself up for disappointment.

After citing the Hatch Act, which does not allow executive branch employees to engage in political activity, KJP launched into an impressive campaign pitch on why Biden should be reelected, pointing to his accomplishments, real or imagined.

“So, let me just say this – I’m not going to comment on the 2024 — she is a candidate,” she said. “So [I] want to be very careful here. And we do follow the Hatch Act, so I want to be really, really mindful here.”

“Look, this is a president, if you look at his track record, and I’m saying this more broadly, if you look at what he’s been able to do, he has been able to push forward and get done historic pieces of legislation,” Jean-Pierre continued. “He has gotten more done than any other president when you think about the infrastructure or legislation, when you think about the last president, it was a joke. We were talking about ‘Infrastructure Week’ — it was literally a joke. Now you hear the president talk about ‘infrastructure decade,’ when you think about being for Medicare, being able to negotiate and lower costs for Americans, that matters. That matters to the American people.”

Meanwhile, Biden doesn’t seem to have a care in the world, acting like he’s in on a big secret the rest of us are not privy to — perhaps, much like the nation saw in 2020 when he hid out in his basement, he’s confident the media will do its part once again to ensure his election success.

President Biden met with Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Monday and can be seen laughing and smirking as White House staffers ushered reporters out of the Oval Office as they shouted questions at the most inaccessible president in recent memory:
