A duo of Republican senators are calling for the online payment processing giant PayPal to cancel the account of a Black Lives Matter chapter over a controversial pro-Hamas social media post.
Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) are demanding that PayPal remove the account for BLM Chicago after its absolutely vile tweet expressing support for terrorists who massacred 260 civilians at an outdoor music festival in Israel.
The tweet which the group has since deleted after it ignited a firestorm, featured a paraglider with a Palestinian flag and the words “I STAND WITH PALESTINE” in bold all-caps. The terrorists utilized the aerial devices to descend from the skies upon the unsuspecting crowd of soon-to-be victims.

BLM Chicago later said that “we aren’t proud of” the tweet that many interpreted as an endorsement for the cold-blood murder of innocent people but has continued to post pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel Hamas propaganda on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, and shows no signs of letting up.
“BLM is a Marxist group that has spent the last week endorsing genocidal terrorism,” the Texas Republican told the Washington Examiner. “If PayPal’s policy against promoting violence means anything, they obviously and immediately should cut their ties. Big Tech companies are not exempt from the consequences that come from boosting terrorism.”
According to its acceptable use policy, PayPal strictly prohibits “the promotion of hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory” all of which could put BLM Chicago in violation of the terms of use.
“Black Lives Matter groups disgraced themselves by cheering Hamas’s murderous rampage against Israel, and they should face the consequences of their actions,” Senator Rubio told the outlet.
“Financial institutions like PayPal should vigorously enforce their Terms of Service and comply with anti-terror finance laws so that groups can’t profit from sickening celebrations of violence,” the Florida Republican added.
The two senators also expressed concern over the tech giant’s processing of payments for an anti-Israel charity with links to a Palestinian terror group.
The Washington Examiner reported that the payment processor is handling donations for the Alliance for Global Justice, an Arizona-based nonprofit that has “come under fire from Congress and watchdog groups for being linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terror group.”
Republicans in Congress are vowing probes into PayPal which according to its policies, forbids the use of its services for “the promotion of hate, violence, racial, or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory or the financial exploitation of a crime,” according to its policies.
“Paypal should obviously and immediately cut ties with any group linked to Palestinian terrorism,” Cruz told the outlet. “Big Tech companies are not exempt from American laws or reputational risk from boosting terrorism.”
“No U.S. person or company should fund Palestinian terrorist organizations seeking to kill innocent Israelis,” Rubio said. “I’ll be asking the Treasury Department to look into this arrangement.”
“Yesterday we sent out msgs that we aren’t proud of. We stand with Palestine & the people who will do what they must to live free. Our hearts are with, the grieving mothers, those rescuing babies from rubble, who are in danger of being wiped out completely,” BLM Chicago posted to X after it deleted the offensive tweet.
