Rihanna’s baby daddy A$AP Rocky arrested at LAX for 2021 shooting as couple returns from Barbados

Rapper Rakim Mayers, known better as “A$AP Rocky,” was arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport after returning from Barbados with his girlfriend Rihanna, regarding a warrant from November 2021.

The warrant was for a shooting near Vista Del Mar and Selma Ave. around 10 p.m. on November 6, and Mayers has been under investigation for a potential connection to that incident.

The victim of the shooting reportedly told police that Mayers shot him three or four times, according to NBC News.

Mayers and his singer girlfriend had jetted off to Barbados following a nasty rumor accusing the rapper of cheating on Rihanna with a shoe designer from her brand, Fenty. The designer, Amina Muaddi, has flat-out denied the allegations that she had slept with Mayers.

“I’ve always believed that an unfounded lie spread on social media doesn’t deserve any response or clarification, especially one that is so vile. I initially assumed that this fake gossip – fabricated with such malicious intent – would not be taken seriously. However in the last 24h I’ve been reminded that we live in a society that is so quick to speak on topics regardless of factual basis and that nothing is off limits. Not even during what should be one of the most beautiful and celebrated times in one’s life,” Muaddi claimed in a statement on the matter.

Rihanna is currently pregnant with the couple’s first child, so the allegations could not have come at a worse time.

Regarding Mayers, this is not the first time that he has experienced trouble with the law.

In 2019, he was detained in Sweden and stood accused of aggravated assault for a fight that took place in Stockholm. He was found guilty but did not receive any additional jail time as a result. It became a national spectacle when then-President Donald Trump became involved in the case, claiming that people had been asking him to help the rapper get out of the foreign jail.

“Many, many members of the African American community have called me — friends of mine — and said, ‘Could you help?’” Trump said, as reported by Rolling Stone. “So I personally don’t know A$AP Rocky but I can tell you that he has tremendous support from the African American community in this country … I have been called by so many people asking me to help A$AP Rocky.”

The case was brought to the president’s attention by fellow rapper Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian.
