Fresh from delivering powerful testimony against trans athletes before the U.S. Senate during a hearing on LGTBQ+ rights, former college swimmer turned women’s advocate Riley Gaines dared members of the “left-leaning” mainstream media to interview her.
The challenge came in response to a tweet from USA Today Sports columnist Nancy Amour, who claimed those women who speak out against allowing biological men to compete against them and invade their personal spaces, such as the women’s locker room, are “using” the issue to gain celebrity status.
“There is a growing cottage industry of women using transgender athletes to become right-wing media celebrities,” Amour wrote.
Her tweet was promptly ratioed into oblivion by Gaines’s response.
“Right-wing?” Gaines tweeted. “I’d love to be interviewed by you, Nancy. Anytime! You know where to find me as does CNN, MSNBC, and every other left leaning outlet that has failed to reach out and consider the perspective of those who are actually impacted by this.”

As BizPac Review reported, in an emotional opening statement to the Senate committee, Gaines recalled being “forced” to not only compete against biological male swimmer, Leah Thomas, but to “share a locker room” with him.
“In addition to being forced to give up our awards and our titles and our opportunities, the NCAA forced me and my female swimmers to share a locker room with Thomas, a 6-foot-4, 22-year-old male equipped with and exposing male genitalia,” she said. “Let me be clear about this: we were not forewarned we would be sharing a locker room. No one asked for our consent, and we did not give our consent.”

She later destroyed the credibility of progressive Human Rights Campaign President Kelley Robinson, who argued that biological men don’t necessarily have an advantage over female athletes.
“I can say that, you know, there’s been this news article about men that think that they can beat Serena Williams in tennis,” Robinson told Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.). “Right? That they think that they could actually score a point on her, and it’s just not the case.”
“Both Serena and Venus [Williams] lost to the 203rd-ranked male tennis player,” Gaines shot back, adding that the Williams sisters are “phenoms for women.”
She went on to tell Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) that the LGBTQ+ tactics represent “the emotional blackmail that is plaguing this country.”

On Twitter, users lined up to slam Amour and show their support for Gaines’s tireless efforts.
“I’m an Independent and I can’t imagine why any woman would consider this a political position,” wrote one user. “It’s about protecting women in every capacity. Period.”
“The left has to label any dissent as ‘right wing’ to attempt to delegitimize that dissent without ever addressing the substance of the dissent,” stated another. “It is far from ‘settled’ that the correct path is to allow biological males to compete with biological females.”
“Waiting for 1 million women to rally and march on Washington DC in a unified effort to stand up for women’s rights,” noted a third. “This isn’t about being partisan but rather coming out against the idea that men are women.”
