Conservatives have long made much of President Biden’s age and apparent cognitive decline, but in recent weeks, the left has tried to level the same argument against Donald Trump after the former president repeatedly referred to Barack Obama when it appeared he meant to target 81-year-old Joe Biden.
Both in recent interviews and at rallies, Trump invoked Obama’s name, when it was clear he was talking about Biden.

According to the 77-year-old GOP frontrunner, the so-called “gaffes” were intentional, and his mental faculties are just fine.
“Whenever I sarcastically insert the name Obama for Biden as an indication that others may actually be having a very big influence in running our Country, Ron DeSanctimonious and his failing campaign apparatus, together with the Democrat’s Radical Left ‘Disinformation Machine,’ go wild saying that ‘Trump doesn’t know the name of our President, (CROOKED!) Joe Biden. He must be cognitively impaired.'” Trump wrote Monday morning on Truth Social.
That, Trump suggested, is balderdash.
“No,” he wrote, “I know both names very well, never mix them up, and know that they are destroying our Country.”
His mind, according to Trump, is sharp as a tack,
“I just took a cognitive test as part of my Physical Exam, and ACED it,” he stated. “Also ACED (a perfect score!) one taken while in the White House.”
“Biden should take one,” Trump suggested, “so we can determine why he wants Open Borders, No Energy Independence, A Woke Military, High Inflation, No Voter I.D., Men playing In Women’s Sports, Only Electric Cars & Trucks, A Weaponized DOJ/FBI, and so many other CRAZY things!!!”
According to Mediaite, “Trump’s hanging a lantern on his past confusion,” but in the example the outlet gave — a radio interview with Fox News’s Brian Kilmeade — it seemed the former president was “hanging a lantern” on the belief that Biden isn’t actually the one “calling the shots” at the White House.
“It’s all coming through Iran,” Trump told Kilmeade. “And Obama wants to he doesn’t want to talk about it. He doesn’t want to mention, he doesn’t even mention them in his statements. It’s all coming through Iran.”
“Well, you mean President Biden,” the host corrected him.
“I also mean Obama,” Trump replied.
Asked what he meant, Trump said, “You know Obama and Biden. But Obama is Biden’s boss. Guess you didn’t really know that.”
“I don’t think Biden knows what’s happening, to be honest with you,” Trump said. “I think Obama is calling these shots, and he’s always felt this way about Iran. There’s no question about that. No, I think Obama and Obama’s people certainly are calling the shots, not Biden.”
Meanwhile, as BizPac Review reported, former White House physician Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) warned on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures” that Biden’s rapid cognitive decline is putting America at “great risk right now.”

“I went back and looked at stuff from two or three years ago — over three years ago when he was running for office — and compared it to right now,” Jackson said. “It’s just unbelievable how much he’s degenerated just during his time in office. We cannot afford to have this man in office for the remainder of this term and then another four years after that.”
