The latest Democrat crackdown crusade proved the “nanny state is alive and well” as Senate Leader Chuck Schumer set his sights on the “pouch packed with problems.”
As fentanyl continued to ravage the nation already stricken by an opioid crisis, and Americans everywhere coped with an economy in shambles, New York’s senior senator once again found his federal overreach stride. Even as the city he called home was fraught with violent crime and overrun by illegal aliens, Schumer urged for action against Zyn.
Speaking at a press conference Sunday, the Democrat lawmaker delivered “a warning to parents” about the tobacco-free powdered nicotine product “because these nicotine pouches seem to lock their sights on young kids, teenagers and even lower, and then use the social media to hook ’em.”
In calling on a review of the Swedish company’s marketing practices and potential negative health impacts of their product, Schumer encouraged the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to heed his warning, “It’s dangerous and we need to stop it from being marketed to children.”
Backlash swiftly followed the senator’s warning that “Kids know what Zyn is, their parents don’t. There are also ‘Zynfluencers’ who have made nicotine pouches a part of their online personalities,” with one instance of his own words being used against him.
Harkening back to threatening remarks the Democrat leader had made on the steps of the Supreme Court, State Freedom Caucus Network’s Greg Price cautioned, “Mr. Schumer, this will be your one and only warning on behalf of all the fellas: Do not cross that Rubicon.”
“You will have reaped the whirlwind and you will pay the price,” he echoed.
Chuck Schumer now wants the government to crack down on Zyn calling it a “pouch full of problems.”

Price’s reaction was hardly unique in calling out the senator who had previously prioritized asking the FDA to investigate PRIME energy drinks for allegedly marketing caffeinated products to kids. Meanwhile, throughout the Big Apple complaints have continued to pour in about the pervasive stench of marijuana, a substance which “extremely worrisome” data has shown connected to psychotic conditions like bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Heaping on to the outcry against the governmental hammer-wielding Schumer that saw every problem to be a nail, Senate Republicans chided Democrat priorities on social media with a note about the president’s own delayed assault on menthol cigarettes.
“Joe Biden wants to ban menthol cigarettes. Chuck Schumer wants to ban Zyn. The nanny state is alive and well with today’s Democrat Party,” posted the account for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Hardly alone in hitting back, others spoke up in favor of the tobacco-free alternative product that, unlike substances like THC, reportedly helped users stay alert. Many riffed on the Gonzales Flag goading the government to “Come and Take It,” including a Barstool Sports writer who blogged, “If it wasn’t for ZYN, I would be doing way more damage to my gums and lungs through other nicotine administration devices.”
“You know how many adults who no longer receive ADHD meds (especially since they nerfed them) depend on ZYN?” the writer asked after wondering “…why the f*ck is only one side of the government trying to take away and go after the things I like.”

the democrats are now coming for your:
zyn
menthols
flavored cigar wraps— stephanie (@ravenwhiteclaw) January 23, 2024
This is:
a.) so stupid. Does he know any of the science or health effects of nicotine vs its delivery mechanism?
b.) so we liberalize marijuana and do little stop fentanyl at the border but we go after Zyn!?
c.) so anti-freedom.

I know for a fact our service members and emergency responders use Zyn as an alternative to tobacco to help stay alert.
This is a massive overreach. https://t.co/ezb8ny7fye
