Disgraced rap mogul and gangster rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has been placed in solitary confinement after fighting another inmate.
Combs is currently housed at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal correctional institution in New Hanover Township, New Jersey, where he’s serving a 50-month sentence on federal charges.
Sources who spoke with TMZ said that somebody “dissed” the rapper, prompting a physical fight during which Combs “held his own.”
“Our sources say the two inmates got into a scuffle and started pushing each other and throwing jabs,” according to TMZ. “We’re told Diddy ‘held his own’ during the brawl, which was quickly squashed by prison staff who separated both men.”
Combs was then “immediately tossed” into solitary confinement.

The fight could be bad news for him. Depending on the outcome of an internal investigation, FCI Fort Dix might blame him for the fight, in which case he’d lose some of the good behavior credit he’s earned.
“If prison officials feel he was in the wrong in this cellblock showdown, he could be extending his stay in the federal pen,” TMZ noted.
TMZ reached out to the prison for more information, but a rep had nothing meaningful to relay.
“We are not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody,” the rep said. “Such information would not be available for the public domain.”
The Federal Bureau of Prisons added in a statement that it doesn’t comment on “disciplinary matters, or other information regarding individual inmates due to privacy, safety, and security concerns.”
According to multiple recent reports, President Donald Trump is considering pardoning the rap star. However, such rumors have been circulating for over a year now.
An anonymous Trump administration official told Deadline last July that a pardon for Combs was being “seriously considered” amid the rapper’s associates pressuring the White House to take action.
Other insiders further confirmed that the prospect of a pardon had gone from being “just another Trump weave to an actionable event.”
However, pressed by Deadline, Combs’ legal team had “no comment” about the prospect of a pardon.
Trump, for his part, had teased the possibility of a pardon for Combs two months before Deadline’s report:

“I would certainly look at the facts if I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me,” he told reporters in the Oval Office at the time after being asked about a pardon for Combs. “It wouldn’t have any impact on me.”
Reports about a potential pardon are still circulating to this day.
“President Trump is poised to pardon a slate of people convicted of emissions and clean air-related violations, and is still discussing other potential acts of clemency, including for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs or several other well-known figures,” CBS News reported on July 3.
Combs was convicted in 2025 of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. However, he dodged a bullet by getting acquitted on the far more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
The rapper has long maintained that he’s the victim of a witch hunt.
“There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities,” his attorney said in a statement on his behalf after his homes in Los Angeles and Miami were raided in the spring of 2024.
“This unprecedented ambush — paid with an advanced, coordinated media presence — leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt,” the statement continued.
