A surprise visit preceded by an entitlement check related to a former president found the WNBA’s Angel Reese bringing new meaning to an acronym for insisting, “we VIP too.”
Ahead of Saturday’s game, athletes began arriving in Chicago Thursday for the 2026 WNBA All-Star Weekend. Ahead of an encounter with former President Barack Obama alongside the rest of the players, Reese was reminded there are people far more important than her when she was made to wait to get off her plane.
Speaking with the press, the Atlanta Dream forward detailed, “When my plane was landing yesterday … they said, ‘VIP. Nobody can get off the plane.’ I’m like, ‘Well, we VIP too.’ And then they said, ‘Obama.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, okay, okay.'”
Angel Reese: “When my plane was landing yesterday, he was right next to my plane too. They were like, ‘VIP. Nobody can get off the plane.’ And I’m like, ‘Well, we VIP too.’ And they said, ‘Obama.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, okay, okay.'”

The opportunity to meet with the president came as players gathered at the monolithic eyesore erected in his honor known as the Barack Obama Presidential Center. There, Reese and the rest took turns snagging selfies with the former chief executive who was first elected when “Bayou Barbie” was a six-year-old.
“Not everybody gets to meet Barack. That was my first time too,” she told reporters, recounting, “Baby, you got to get your [picture]. I’m getting a picture of everybody. I got one of [Kahleah Copper], got one of me, a selfie. I think it’s important just to capture every moment.”

Perhaps shedding some insight on her apparent entitlement, Reese also raised her interview with former first lady Michelle Obama earlier this year on the “IMO” podcast.
“[Michelle] made me feel the empowerment of what a woman is like to go through so many different things,” said the player. “To be in front of the world and have your back against the wall and just be able to go against all the odds and everything she was doing. And she gave me a lot of advice. So I appreciate Michelle and she pours so much into me and I’m just really happy.”
The former first lady is infamous for asserting victimhood and was recently called out for as much by SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly.
“Oh my God, she is dripping in narcissism — dripping in it. Would you at least feign some humility? I’m embarrassed for you,” said Kelly as Obama lamented articles that focused on her style. “You’re actually not that great. You’re fine. But you seem very scripted and artificial to me … You don’t speak from the heart. You didn’t move me at all at the Democratic National Convention. You felt a little recycled and tired, if I’m being honest.”
Amid the launch of her own Barbie doll, she contended she “spoke … into existence.” Reese’s self-importance was dragged across social media, with some suggesting in her case VIP had alternative meanings like “very ignorant person.”
Yep she VIP… very ignorant person.

She truly believes she is a legend. How many athletes have X handles dedicated to their daily bloopers? Its wild.

Angel Reese really pulled up on Obama for a selfie like she’s some generational talent… meanwhile she still can’t buy a bucket and just be out here bricking shots like it’s a full-time job.

When you THINK you’re a VIP, you tell everyone, when you ARE a VIP, everyone tells you.

She’s a VIP in about the same way a a player on a minor league baseball team is a VIP.
